Intermediate Championship 2010

(Oldest Posts First)

How does anyone see this going this year? I'd put Kilclonfert ahead of Bracknagh & Ballyfore on current form anyway. Maybe Raheen are looking the strongest side at the minute too. Themselves and Shannonbridge probably.

Remember, those shown below aren't official prices or my guess either, I've just copied and pasted it from elsewhere.

Shannonbridge 10/3
Doon 4/1
St. Runaghs 5/1
Raheen 6/1
Birr 6/1
Clonbullogue 10/1
Rhode 12/1
Durrow 16/1
Bracknagh 25/1
Clara 33/1
Ballyfore 50/1
Kilclonfert 66/1

The Bridge and Doon may struggle to win this, I would think Rynaghs are in pole position to make a bid. Durrow might be up there challenging also.
Heard Bridge were lucky to draw with Kilclonfert on Saturday evening?

Anybody got any thoughts on this now?

Quarter-Final games are:
Raheen v Doon
St. Rynaghs v Birr
Rhode v Shannonbridge
Durrow v Clonbullogue

Durrow have been impressive so far, but may have come out of what looks like to have been the weaker of the two groups. Seen Raheen this year and they look particularly strong. Big up the middle and it would be great to see the club finally get their hands on some silverware. Long overdue. I'd fancy Raheen, Rynaghs & Durrow to come through, and also probably Shannonbridge, but their match with Rhode is very hard to call.

Quarter-Final games are:
Raheen v Doon - Raheen to romp home, UNLESS doon got good in the while?
St. Rynaghs v Birr - Hard ta call, probably back St.Rynaghs.No real reason.depends on the day i suppose.
Rhode v Shannonbridge- Hard to call , depends on where it is. if in tullamore then rhode have a good chance, if on a tighter field the the bridge. Rhode's forward line hasnt been scoring that freely , its been left to younger lads. the older players need to step up now.
Durrow v Clonbullogue - Durrow.

Durrow and Raheen to win but id have expected them to beat anyone left. its a very tight championship though. I think the rhode mentality of being the 2nd team will probably see them be gallent losers. i heard shannonbridge are getting players back since celebrity bainisteoir so that in itself will be a huge help. if they beat rhode they could go on and win it. its nearly to tight to call.

Raheen should beat doon but could be a close enough game than people predict.
I think birr will beat rynaghs. But could go either way
Rhode should beat shannonbridge, unless they improved dramatically then its rhodes to lose.
Think Clonbullogue could beat durrow. Still a very close one to call though

The intermediate final wont be on for about 3 weeks. Raheen beat Doon in the league final last night.

I think Noel andrew Graham has to be the obvious player to win Intermediate Player of the year. Anyone have there own opinion on this matter?

Hard for the lad to win it as he plays junior for Cappincur!

He (Graham) played his best football with Offaly minors this year, not Cappincur.
And as the man said, he plays Junior football with Cappincur, not Intermediate.
On the subject of Junior Player of the year, now there's a foregone conclusion.
Jimmy Foy is the standout choice without a shadow of a doubt
