Replying To Donegal_abroad:  "You might have some advice for them on the bottling front. Some people have no self awareness."
Course I've self awareness ! At least we always admit when we bottle finals . Though some how when Galway bottle finals they are still not slagged , not called loosers etc and they still think they are above Mayo . They also either say they were robbed in a final like ' hawke eye ' not beaten by the better team no .

Oh and by the way you lot won't be winning Sam either so grow up !

I do hate Galway no problem admitting that and you lot hate us to ...! I don't hate Meath no problem at all with Meath !
You all think you are just going to have to show up v Meath . Your bye bye comment sounds like a baby throwing their rattle out of a pram .

Only in Ireland would they have a football draw on the radio when it could have been done in a few mins in the studio of the Sunday Game the night before.
'Televising' it then on the RTE news channel and not showing the bowls as they make the draw, what's the point?
I mean seriously who thinks up these things?

You've about the least self awareness of any poster I've ever come across CK. Grow up yourself and stop embarrassing your Mayo counterparts who are by and large good supporters

Is there any County you like? I presume you live on your own?

So I'm embaressing myself because you don't like what I say ? How mature ! Who is ck .
Your the one without any self awareness.
Just because you dont like someone's opinion don't be throwing around insults . Typical Galway one .

Couldn't fix it then…. A few years ago one of the lads overseeing the draw ( he is still there by the way ) inadvertently or because of too much liquor perhaps told me the whole draw even though it wasn't due to take place until the following morning… Hand on heart that's the truth… They can't fiddle around with the draw if it's in plain sight on tv…

It's an absolute disgrace that Jimmy and the lads from Donegal have to play on Saturday because the GAA is too mane!! They know the Dubs and Armagh will bring a big crowd.....let the Orange lads and the Jack's scrabble over tickets for Saturday (they would fill CP) and put Donegal out Sunday with us.
Not that it matters what day Donegal play because I think they will beat Monaghan either way!

I'd say Jack O Connor will be in bother after the weekend if they lose to Armagh, he totally overestimate the strength of his panel against meath.

Replying To winatallcost:  "Eh Down were 3-1 outsiders and will regret missed chances. Galway just scrapped over the line. Meath will be probably 3-1 here too but hey I guess it's a great draw for Galway and a handy passage to semi final."
How could Down be 3/1 when they're ahead of Galway in your seedings? Are you saying that bookmakers don't consult your seed listings when compiling their odds? Is it because of this oversight that certain bookmaker prices on games seem to be wildly at odds with your seedings. Down Galway odds there an example. Surely the bookmakers won't land 9th seed Galway with the favs tag, taking on 3seed Meath.

Donegal game and Galway game should be on Sunday as it leaves a 7 day turnaround for everyone from last weekend…. Is not rocket science.. The GAA must be the stupidest sporting organisation anywhere in the world… they really know how to rub people up the wrong way… Their greed for money outweighs any sort of thought or care for the players… The great orator Jarlath will find it hard to explain away this one….

Donegal have definitely drawn the short straw. At the same time there was no guarantee of a 7 day turnaround. The risk of not winning the group was a short turnaround. Still a tough one though.

It must be wonderful to have such clarity for dealing with complex problems. Perhaps you should join a fixture making committee where your simplistic skills would no doubt be appreciated. I quote from the Irish Times which elucidates the conflicting constraints involved. Fixture making tends to look a more straightforward when you are not the one balancing those constraints.

"The CCCC were left in a quandary with trying to square the circle in terms of the four fixtures because it was always going to prove difficult to facilitate requests from all eight counties.

The core problem centred on the likelihood of both Dublin v Tyrone and Armagh v Kerry attracting massive numbers of spectators. With those matches possibly pushing towards selling out even if they were standalone fixtures, the demand to attend that pairing on the same bill would have left thousands of fans without tickets.

Fixture makers did still consider the possibility of scheduling that double-header but after examining the expected attendance figures they determined those games should be on different days."
