Starting on Sunday and that's coming from prominent clonkill people, these are rumours put out to unsettle things and they are coming from the one club. rogerdodger (Westmeath) - Posts: 228 - 16/10/2015 13:34:49 1799414 Link 0 |
Clonkill have agreed to nothing as far as there concerned they are playing the minor final on Sunday .they would not have risked playing eggerton or Mitch on Wednesday if they were rogerdodger (Westmeath) - Posts: 228 - 16/10/2015 13:36:14 1799416 Link 0 |
well whatever happens, the two senior clubs will have it the way it suits them. valley84 (Westmeath) - Posts: 1799 - 16/10/2015 17:50:06 1799524 Link 0 |
Looks like Minor Final wont be played RAHKILL (Westmeath) - Posts: 395 - 16/10/2015 18:50:01 1799533 Link 0 |
It appears neither Clonkill or Raharney will play what a farce the county board have brought on.As for the person who said play your own grade first.Tell me would Raharney have won the county title last year without the Doyles or run Kk so close in Leinster? jobber (Westmeath) - Posts: 860 - 16/10/2015 19:54:44 1799547 Link 0 |
Anyone know what will happen in the event of the clubs not playing? westmeath2015 (Westmeath) - Posts: 153 - 16/10/2015 20:07:06 1799551 Link 0 |
I don't see on the Raharney Facebook page where it says they are refusing to play the minor game. They are still requesting the fixture be changed which I don't think will happen so both games to go ahead as fixed methinks. Hard on the minor players involved for sure. Raharney will probably suffer most, not sure if any Clonkill minors start for the seniors ? BigSur (Westmeath) - Posts: 739 - 16/10/2015 20:34:50 1799556 Link 0 |
Minor game still going ahead no postponement , on raharney Facebook page they say they have only requested in writing for game to be postponed. rogerdodger (Westmeath) - Posts: 228 - 16/10/2015 21:06:45 1799569 Link 0 |
It reads both teams have informed the county board they are not in a position to field. Raharney also informed them off this on Monday. There will be no game. That would require 2 teams to play it. Whether the fixture stays in place is up to county board but in terms of a game there will not be one. The county board should make supporters aware of this not that too many will be in early with the rugby on anyway Dote (Westmeath) - Posts: 214 - 16/10/2015 21:49:46 1799581 Link 0 |
I can't understand one thing when Michael McHugh was minor secretary he used common sense.Where are our minor board now surely this is there responsibility not the senior board.Neither team want to play, surely an accommodation can be reached but they better take up their responsibility quick. jobber (Westmeath) - Posts: 860 - 17/10/2015 10:20:17 1799600 Link 0 |
This farce has happened because clubs have refused to deal with the big issue all year - the minor board haven't a clue how to run competitions valley84 (Westmeath) - Posts: 1799 - 17/10/2015 13:04:20 1799622 Link 0 |
Word is if both minor teams don't field they are being thrown out and the minor final will be played between the 2 beaten semi finalists at a later date, the county board have obviously consulted with croke park and have there backing with the rulebook , the programme would have been compiled and printed midweek also so that's another issue when it boils down to it its 2 clubs v county board and croke park I'd say. rogerdodger (Westmeath) - Posts: 228 - 17/10/2015 15:53:10 1799644 Link 0 |
What will happen when the 2 losing semi finalists refuse to step in to a meaningless final. Dote (Westmeath) - Posts: 214 - 17/10/2015 16:35:40 1799650 Link 0 |
Clonkill and raharney have enough players to field without making a big deal on this , they are doing the dictating and have been doing so for years.it is a great occasion for minor and senior to be out out the one day ,dosent happen to often ,. County board would be right to come down heavy on both clubs if they dont field . nearlymadeit (Westmeath) - Posts: 82 - 17/10/2015 17:20:02 1799654 Link 0 |
If t that happens minor 2015 will be null and void. Both finalists will probably be banned from all competitions they are left in this year including u-21 and probably a ban from minor competition next year and year after and huge fines imposed too.I am just thinking of all the other minor players on each side are they only there to fill up numbers on there teams ? 4 players and 2 not starting on there senior team is what this is about and from talking to other hurling people from both clubs not everyone is happy over it. In reality hurling is in a poor position in Westmeath look at next year championship in round robin Westmeath, Carlow, Offaly, kerry with winners playing Galways and runners up play laois rogerdodger (Westmeath) - Posts: 228 - 17/10/2015 17:21:48 1799655 Link 0 |
