maybe bricktop is still bitter at the memories of relegation with ballycran a couple of years ago.

We have our problems for sure, but at least we don't need to go asking the opposition team for players in reserve matches just yet (AND [email protected] EVEN A HOME GAME).

Paper doesn't refuse ink, but lord only knows what Paul Coulter might have said instead of Woodsy. There's bigger problems afoot in the ballwall.

what's happening in the ballwall? The artificial grass no growing?

You seem to know a lot about us thats for sure... Maybe you should concentrate on your own team which you cant start in. Stop writing dribble on hoganstand yous have 2 point yourselfs. Are 2nds needed a player against Cushendall fair enuf shudnt happen. But atleast we beat yous the next day so all was good :)

need a performance like dunloy every week ,if you ask anyone it was a superb start and blew them away with the goals , however i am concerned to see the johnies win against the ports , wouldve thought that was a good opportunity for a few points on the board for them

Is the re-arranged game between Portaferry and Ballygalget on tomorrow night?

clash of the ash tonight as ports take on ballygalget in a very tight antrim league can the ports keep neighbours fighting for points or can ballygalget win for a needed points, hard one to call so i will sit on the fence

Has it been refixed for tonight?

Ports to shade it.

They're a league team and galgets will miss the Toners, one to suspension and the other to injury.

How did the relegation battle go?

bricktop (Down) - Posts: 2448 - 14/06/2012 09:30:30    1193975

Portaferry won by a point or two...not sure as the old eyesight isn't the best, but was a good competitive match, Portaferry dominated the first half, few easy free's gave away by Ballygalget and a soft goal but even though they were 8 or 9 points down at half time you could sense a come back was on the cards. Ballygalget had the lions share of possession in the second half but didn't convert the enough chances they had to win. All in all a good result for Portaferry but Ballygalget never gave up. Hopefully now they can get the points against the Johnnies on Sunday as their past 2 performances have been very good, they just need to get over the finish line. Some good displays by both teams and should make things interesting come championship time.

Cement heed, Still spilling the manure man! Relegation?
1 Ruairí Óg
2 Loughgiel Shamrocks
3 Mac Uilin CLG
4 St.Patricks, Portaferry
5 Ballycran
6 Cuchullains-Dunloy
7 St John's GAC
8 Ballygalget

See the Galgts have 2 points I wonder where they got them? Oh I, I remember now it's when the crans came a visiting. No one's relegated yet man there is a long way to go. It's just like spurs who thought they were in the Champ league, it's not over to the large lady sings. ( U no wot I mean cement heed)

we all need positive vibes man. No down man should want to see any down club relegated.

You are correct, I don't want any relegated either, but I'm a realist and live in the real world.

If you follow the stats, there's really four teams in the relegation mix, the three Ards clubs and St Johns.

To date the Ards derbies have went the way of the home team and normally do (not set in stone, but known as a trend). The Ports have won their two home games and took a good point of Loughguile, hence their five. Ballygalget took their two points off us, at Ballygalget.

We've taken 2 unexpected points off Dunloy, and away to St Johns. We've still our neighbours and St Johns at home to come, whereas the Ports realistically will need something from St Johns at home after getting well beat in Corrigan and try get something in their two away Ards derbies. Ballygalget have a big game vrs St Johns this weekend, they really need to win that one or they're well favourites to go down. They'll need to get something away from home, possibly Corrigan to have a chance.

I'd prefer to be in our position than the other two IMO.

Good win for Ballygalget yesterday. They needed that.

What happened Portaferry?

Frank Mitchell (Down) - Posts: 1075 - 18/06/2012 10:59:50    1196653

yeah good win indeed for Ballygalget, St Johns are a handy enough outfit so definitely a good result....not sure what happened Portaferry as I was at the Ballygalget game, heard that the ref abandoned the game, Ballycastle left the field but Portaferry remained on it. Not sure if this si true as I wasn't there and its only what I heard filtering through to Balllygalget. What does this mean-do Portaferry get the points in this case or is there a points deduction to both teams?

grandagrokepoke (Down) - Posts: 347 - 18/06/2012 11:06:55    1196658

portaferry were 6 up 2 minutes remaining. 2 players sent off for ballycastle, one returned on in an attempt to hit the referee. Game was then abandoned.

not sure what happens, but i would imagine as ballycastle was at fault pferry would get the points. Good win for galgets and ports
