Galway Junior Footballers

(Oldest Posts First)

Just seen a fixture for the coming weekend, Galway Juniors playing Kilkenny in an All Ireland Semi Final, does anyone know much about our junior team? Who's playing well? Who's on the Team. I presume its made up of mainly Intermediate club footballers from the county?

Whens the final?

Kevin Walsh is making sure Cunningham gets as many games as possible, according to the report scored 0-7 from play.

The goal he scored v Mayo in the Connacht final as well was an absolute scorcher.

Was at the Mayo game earlier in the year, this is a very impressive Junior team. Kerry in the final will be difficult but I've heard Cunningham and Kelly been playing very well together.

On a side note, after that Mayo game I was told this team would be travelling to London for the Quarter/Semi, did I miss a game or was this scrapped?

A few names there that were outstanding underage prospects, particularly Matthew Reddington and Damien O'Reilly. A while since I heard much about either of them. Good to see them playing.

It was fixed as the Connacht champs v the British champs. Kilkenny play in the British Championship I think so while most thought they'd be playing Warwickshire or Lancashire or whoever, it turned out to be Kilkenny who won it.

For those asking about the final, it's going to be played the weekend after next I think, 21 or 22. Probably depends on what day the senior game v Kildare is. Last couple of Junior finals were played in Croke Park before quarter-finals that won't happen now. Gaelic Grounds would be my guess.
