The final is now in Ballycran at 1.00pm. Kieran Rice refereeing. Only 2 changing rooms in Ballygalget so no double header with senior final possible.

Carryduff strong favorites but the Liatroim veterans could still pull off an upset!

The winners play Glenravel on 5th Oct at an Antrim venue.

Frank, you are the only one putting Carryduff down as favourites, let alone strong favourites. I would love to hear your reasoning, as catching Liatroim on the hop once last year is unlikely to be enough to warrant this favourites tag.

The final is currently fixed for Carryduff 1 O' Clock.. Typical uncertainty with fixture confirmation.. Liatroim will have to be favourites going on form this season.

Irish News today states Ballycran for JHC final. Makes sense.

League form counts for nothing as Liatroim found out last year when a very young fit Carryduff team stuffed them in Kilclief. Based on that result most hurling people Ive been talking to are making Carryduff favorites. Carryduff have all there young lads available and will be well up for it after last years disappointing final performance.

Carryduff to win by 5-6 pts.

Frank, we disagree on this one! For me, Liatroim will have far too much up front for Carryduff and they are a lot more experienced in key positions. I think that Carryduff will come up well short in this encounter.

Prediction:-

Carryduff 0-11
Liatroim 2-14

Liatroim to win handy enough there half of the draw was the hard one with Ballela and Shamrocks in it these 3 teams would beat Carryduff with alot to spare

Easy win for Carryduff in the end. Think there was about 8 in it.

FINAL Carryduff 2-17 V 2-9 Liatroim

Superb and well deserved victory from Carryduff! Liatroim got off to a flyer and got a goal after 1 minute! They were 4/5 points to the good before a very nervous Carryduff scored. Overall, Carryduff were excellent and deserved the win! Liatroim, I was very disapointed in! They looked sluggish and out of sorts!

Well done Carryduff!

I hate to say I told ya so...but I TOLD YA SO!!

I told ye all Carryduff would win but the way they won with ease surprised me. They were far fitter and better organised than Liatroim and most of them managed to keep their heads when the pressure was on in the second half. They play a modern style of hurling with plenty of movement and diagnal passing were as Liatroim's style hasn't moved on at all. Id say the Ballycran coaching has helped bring Carryduff on to this level.

Liatroim have fallen a long way in the last couple of years. For a dozen years they were the best team outside the Ards and dropping down to junior should have gave them the chance of an Ulster or All Ireland. Now they're behind Carryduff in the peckin order!

This is a well deserved JHC title for Carryduff that they can celebrate for a week before facing Glenravel in the Ulster JHC. Their last win didn't really count because they only had to play one game!

Well done Carryduff & good luck in Ulster!

Ahhh...I see what you did there Frank :)

Kudos to you - you got this 100% correct and I think you were the only one that called it that way on this forum! What ever happened to Liatroim? I doubt they will ever play that badly again? Are a few of the lads getting to old now do you think?

It will be interesting to see how far Carryduff get in the Ulster against Con Magees this Sunday.

Congrats Carryduff, a young technical hurling side that have a bright future. Average age of the team 19-20.

Who were the main players in the Final. Was surprised to hear the won. I saw Liatroim in the semi and they looked very strong. Do Carryduff have any potential county players in their ranks? Best of luck in the ulster..
