Playing the match in Cork seems a bit far fetched ... especially on a saturday.... hoppingball (Galway) - Posts: 963 - 11/07/2017 00:05:45 2014634 Link 0 |
That would be madness but I don't think any venues have been decided on yet. It's Galway vs Clare and Dublin vs Antrim......there's no way Cork will be the venue for either of those fixtures.

Apparently it is fixed for Cork. What a joke. Anyone know what the panel is like this year? tribescity (Galway) - Posts: 254 - 12/07/2017 18:30:29 2015766 Link 0 |

Bad for supporters if it's true the game is fixed for Cork. Barnowl94 (Galway) - Posts: 3150 - 14/07/2017 16:16:37 2016590 Link 0 |
That would require communication. And as everybody knows, Galway GAA do not do communication. It wouldn't take much for them to publish a list of names of those who are in the squad. It would drum up some interest etc. But for Galway GAA that is too big an ask.

Agree & in stark contrast to the Donegal county board chairman Sean Dunnion coming out publically urging Donegal supporters to come out in force & purchase their tickets early for Markievicz Park due to its capacity, not a peep out of Galway.

The minors trained this morning and then travelled to cork to check out the pitch a very long day for the youngsters.

They lost the u17 semi to Cork last night. Pretty sure the lads that played for the minors didn't start. galwayman2 (Galway) - Posts: 821 - 28/07/2017 13:30:40 2024866 Link 0 |
cork played their minor lads last night on starting team they don't play their minor semi final til 13th august galway only started their goalie they had 4 other minors on line dey used 3 of them during 2nd half it was on account of galway playing their semi final on 6th august that they didn't start them

Sure there was 10 days between the u17 game and the minor game (unlike our u17 footballers who disgracefully had to play the night before the Connacht minor final with 9 or 10 on both panels). What harm playing 3 or 4 outfield lads. It was an AI semi final in its own right remember - this team doesn't get a chance to play again next year. galwayman2 (Galway) - Posts: 821 - 31/07/2017 09:31:34 2026429 Link 0 |
just letting u know the reason for our lads not starting I totally agree with u if a 17yr old cant play 2 games in 10 days it shows u way things are gone ive no doubt the lads dying to play that game but jeff lynskey minor manager had them wrapped up in cotton wool for 45mins it was a game we probly would have won if the lads played but another thing is the u17 final fixed for 12 o clock sunday 6th in croker v Dublin we playing cats in minor semi at 2 gaa fixed games and knew there cud be clash for our u17s and minors so that's what croker thought of u17 we wud have to play final without 5 eligible players if we won semi

That makes a mockery of the u17 competition. Both football and hurling. No respect at all for players good enough to play on both panels.
