Simple solution. Make register of players public (publish online). Easy to check, increases chances of getting caught therefore you would think less players will chance it.

Also punishment should be clear with no wriggle room therefore makes appeals less likely.

How could the player be illegal if he did not play in the US. He did not leave the jurisdiction of his home club.

Transfer for the two lads went through on the 1st of June. So I'm not sure. Portumna put in an objection it was thrown out. Turlough put in a counter objection. It was thrown out. No idea what Turloughs objection was. As thing stands I don't think anyone is being punished. Although Portumna may go further.

Good man Tommie boy, blame everyone except those responsible! The rules are simple, you cannot play in Ireland for 30 days after your sanction goes through in Croke Park. This particular sanction went through on Thursday the 1st of June. There is also a live register of the sanctions on the Croke Park website, which also shows all the rules/regulations around sanctions. I cannot understand how any appeal from Portumna would be thrown out, they have every right to and in the end they will be successful.

I would imagine that they probably didn't get the objection in within the three day deadline.

The official GAA website stated his transfer went through on June 1st & he played for Turlough a few days later, that is all fact yet they somehow get it swept under the carpet, they need to spend money on a calendar rather than a football manager training a hurling team

Hurling is a field game , when game is over its over, but too many people cant take a defeat in galway and will try anything to overturn result. The co board states that turloughmore have done nothing wrong so get a life

The GAA website could be wrong ( administration error) bottom line is let it go we have an all Ireland to win no point in stering up trouble between clubs. Thurlouch won this match on the field. So let's all United and focus on Liam MC Carty

If it was explained why no rules were broken it might help clear up the matter. But with our county board that would make too much sense.
