Minor Hurling Manager 2016

(Oldest Posts First)

Any idea when the Minor Hurling Manager for 2016 is going to be appointed? At this stage last year Johnny Greville had his panel finalised and back in training! Surely the County Board would want to build on last years success albeit with a weaker squad for the coming year! The constant disrespect shown to County Hurlers must be infuriating for the players involved at all levels!!

When are we going to stop posting bitter, empty posts? A little bit of knowledge wouldn't go astray abu? The county board have been negotiating with a number of interested managers for the past few weeks, a number of issues needed to be sorted out, training venues for a start, a coordinator to inform players of training, matches, a very time consuming role, selectors, another thankless role, these things take time and effort with little thanks, certainly posts complaining about so called lack of respect towards hurlers are of little help.

Lots of respect shown to the Junior a and Junior b competitions yesterday! Finals on the 6th of December. Shows the importance of hurling in the county.
How could a competition with 6 teams, take all year to run off?

Well done to the county board, a high profile appt, a manager with a proven track record, hard for even the usual critical subjects to find fault with the board on this one, am sure they will try though. Danny has been remarkably successful with K/K in Offaly, he was within an ace of the Offaly senior job, well done county board.

Should be a good appointment - best of luck to them. Any potential for dual players ala Tipp last year ?
I think Peter Leahy currently has a minor football panel of around 40 and is working away with them.

Don't think there are any dual players and if they have started with Leahy I think they will stay with him because the lads from our club on the panel have said the Minor set up is unreal. I never seen young lads so excited about football. I don't know specifics but according to the young lads they say its very professional and interesting and fun. Glad to hear people enjoying been in with the county with all the negativity we are usually hearing. On another note Danny Owens is a great appointment fair play to whoever got him sorted.
Looking forward to something coming from the minor level this year.
