Westmeath underage: Both codes

(Oldest Posts First)

Surely the time has come for Westmeath to step up and finally realize that the underage structure is flawed at best. I think it's a joke the fact that we along with other things we don't seem to see Strength and Conditioning as an important part of developing young players talent. For the last number of years from U15s even to Senior you c can see we lack the physicality of other teams. For e.g Kildare buy into it and are a lot stronger than us in all age groups. The u15s player the other day against Kildare hurling and were way less physical than Kildare. Time for Westmeath to wake up surely ? Thoughts on my post and your opinion on Strength and Conditioning work being needed/or not. ??

Worrying about strength and conditioning is only one of a number of issues.

The standard of coaching and player development in clubs and across the county between 8 and 14 is terrible. There is no leadership or support for clubs.
