Wexford Hurling 2025

(Oldest Posts First)

Well lads might get it started. Is Conor firman worth a crack. Taught Joe Barrett was very good last couple of games but a little slight who else would ye bring in. What the hopes for this year coming up. Me personally it's the last chance of these great men to win something . Leinster is bad other side is we could be relegated.

I don't see enough club games living in Dublin and I drive so find it hard to get down at weekends. Did go to co. Final Naas game and na fianna.

Looking at the league fixtures cork limerick and Clare will be really tough tipp Galway and Kilkenny are winnable and they are the games we have to target.

I dunno just my taughts and sure let's get this thread going

It's only November still. Couldn't you wait until after Christmas at least. I suppose you've the Xmas tree up since the first of August!

Agree the 3 away games will be the toughest of the 6. Over the last 2 years we gave good gametime to newer lads, and this year we actually had a gameplan/structure in the League that helped them do well. I think when we went away from it for Championship we looked the worse for it.
Hopefully Patsy and CBD won't be injured next year. Hopefully a few other new or newer forwards can make the impact Cian Byrne made this year, and hopefully he improves more also. Maybe Whelan, Kehoe and a few other u20s might step up, although most of the better lads are u20 again next year and should concentrate on that.
Keith needs new lads to grasp their opportunities during the League, and if they do there's a Leinster could be won come the summer. Galway, Kilkenny and Dublin will likely all be rebuilding like ourselves, although maybe this year gives us a bit of a headstart on them for next year, if we build on it. Lads have a years more Senior S and C, speed and athletic training, etc under their belts, hopefully they can kick on on the pitch.

Usual optimistic outlook from me;-)

Similar to last year I'm not sure. Optimistic about our chances if we stay relatively injury free at key stages. The league is less important this year.

We're getting good quality games so happy once we build on our gameplan and stay competitive. It's a very tough group but glad to be in it.

Same as yourself I think there's a Leinster available to win. We were there or there abouts last year if not for some poor decision making. We were in a winning position in all of our games.

Kilkenny - always so tight and our recent record is good. We always have a chance and will be at home.

Dublin - have become a major bogey team for us. We should have beaten them the last three meetings and managed to lose two and draw one. Last year being the most frustrating with a 6 point lead with a minute to go. We need to be more clinical.

Galway - our record here is poor but I expect they'll be in a major rebuild so we need to capitalise.

Antrim - as I said before, this will be their all Ireland final and the game Davy will target most. Of we're on it we'll win. If we mess around we'll be in trouble.

Offaly - again a really tough fixture they'll be targeting to be in the shake up for top 3. If we're playing our own game well we'll win, but it's the typical Banana skin we are so vulnerable to.

Realistically to be in the final you need to beat Antrim and Offaly. We are expected to do this but need to deliver performances.

We need to beat two of the big 3. You can afford to lose one. Of course in 19 we managed the final with 3 draws.

Statistically we're more likely to beat Kilkenny and Dublin but lose to Galway.

Obviously we'll know a lot more when we see the panel and a few league games.

It's a shame about the Walsh cup. It puts the pressure on for a competitive league and reduces the opportunity to try new lads.

Agree its a pity the Walsh Cup has been shelved. The lads will be playing challenge games anyway totally stupid. Was always a great opportunity for younger players and fans are itching for matches after Christmas!
I agree the games against Antrim and Offaly at home will be must wins. Has the order of fixtures been released yet?
Really looking forward to the league and would love to see the young lads like of Conall Clancy, Eoin Whelan and AJ Redmond ( if he commits ) and hopefully likes of Patsy , Cian Byrne, Eoin Ryan , CBD and Tucker can push on from last season. We really need the young lads to drive things on now

Think Jack Redmond is worth a shot too. He's a big chap who given time I think could be an asset for us

Jack needs to work on his pace, but is playing well this year.
