very surprising results from the weekend's action. I do feel Daingean are clear favorites this year tho, a young team with confidence and putting up some big scores in games. i feel john greene's absence might turn out to be a positive funnily, with him not playing i feel the will use there other forwards more often with the ball which the didn't tend to do over the last few years. However i feel tullamore will have a say where the title will head, in there group stages had a very unsetteled team losing some players to senior and injuries. Againest kilcormac the where soild down the middle with simon byrne being involved with everything in there forwards, not sure of there young midfielders but very good on ball and catching. and a big player was stephen egan at centre back he dominated the area and swept up any loose ball. He surely is worth a place on there senior team so keeping him at junior would be a big plus for them. Shamrocks are a tough team and wont fear anybody but i feel the will fall short as the over relieant on packie walsh and jimmy conway not really much else i feel for them to score. And Clonmore a big strong team with pace ,will give dangean plenty of it and might run them close but feel daingean have too much scoring power and should pull through. My feeling is that just might be Daingeans year!!!!!

fair comment by the last poster daingean are very strong !!shamrocks will be determined to beat tullamore AGAIN,they do have some very nice players with jimmy conway and packie walsh...but with Michael Kenaney the tullamore town soccer man back playing with them he will add a lot of pace and scoring ability upfront, they should give tullamore another good game clonamore should also give daingean another scare !!any dates or possible venues decided for these games yet??

Would be great for Daingean to win a championship without the Greenes, as would give the other lads a lot of confidence. I feel a lot of guys have been intimidated by their presence over the last few years. Lot of good young players their who need to make their own mark on a championship.
Would be unforgiveable in Daingean if they do not win this year as they would likely face Clara in the junior next year!

I dont think your previous comment is very fair curiosgeorge, I certainly dont think it would be unforgivable for Daingean to loose the junior championship this year. Yes it would be very dissapointing but unforgivable i dont think so.

Well seen as the majority in Daingean would have seen KK as their main competitor in Junior, plus the fast that they have beaten Tullamore would suggest that indeed it would be unforgiveable. You have to remember that Daingean took a couple of years to fully accept that they were back Junior.
In my opinion, if they dont win this year they will struggle for a few years.

As bad as Edenderry were I was very impressed with Daingean especially without the Greenes & Stephen Burns. Their forwards looked very impressive with the scores been evenly spread out.

Another year, another year Daingean blow the junior. And beaten fairly well by the sounds of things, it could be a while before they get out of junior now

Some second half performance by Clonmore, the 3 Foy brothers ran riot in the half forward line, there a class above. Wouldnt look outta depth at a higher level! Paddy Mooney scored unbelievable goal, just shows hes still got that class from when he was playin for Johnstownbridge in Kildare

A bad bad day for Daingean. Better side won, no doubts about that anyway.
Both of their teams (A&B) knocked out of the championship over the weekend.
I seriously think that its a mentality thing with Daingean. Player for player they're probably better footballers overall than Clonmore. But their fight and the heart was nothing in comparison to that of the Harps. The Harps forwards played fantastically well for the amount of possession they received.

As for Clonmore, I think they'll beat Shamrocks in the final but they could well struggle at Intermediate. Shamrocks would have the same problem if they won it. I still believe Daingean would be the best equipped side to make an impact in the higher grade.

Well it must be clonmore for leinster now, i presume they will represent the county!! There is definately something missing in Daingean. i think that there are a few teams in the junior ranks that are there from lack of effort rather than lack of players, K/K and Daingean being the main culprits

Would like to wish the Harps all the best in the final, when, where and time is it fixed for?
