Any one care about the offaly clare match this weekend? thought we should win well enough but the team looks as poor a team as we'v had in a while

A poor team as we've had in a while that played the poorest first half the county has ever seen. 1 point and I think about 8 or 9 wides in the opening 35 minutes, some of them from Niall Mc and Casey were very poor indeed.

Started the half well but Clare seemed to pull further in front fairly easily, lucky to get a draw in end, then unlucky not to win it at the death with a Ken Casey free. Played reasonably well in extra time.

From a purely footballing perspective it was a match which we should have gone into looking to win comfortably, on the day we can be grateful to have come out as winners.

The biggest thing we can take from it is the sense of belief and passion shown in the second half that looked to have been gone from Offaly football for far too long, the first win in the qualifiers is a heavy burden off the players backs, and hopefully now they'll go into the next round with a bit more confidence. Hopefully too, it can restore a bit of faith in the supporters, more out the next day and who knows what could happen, just look to the hurlers last week as an example.

Off to Portlaoise now, could turn into a good weekend for Offaly GAA yet...

Offaly footballers mixed the good with the bad last Saturday, poor first half, looked aimless. The younger players introduced showed a bit of drive, and got us back into the game. When Clare went 7 up I thought that was it, but thanks to a late goal and a point we survived, and won in extra time.
We are at home v Waterford in football, and at home to Limerick in hurling, two good draws, it might have been away to Clare!.Both games are winnable, will it be a double header?
Hats off to Offaly hurlers for 2 great displays, Galway just got 2 late frees to shade it. Tha sense of Offaly pride and never say die spirit is back, hope we get a good run in the qualifiers. If we can build on this result Offaly could be on the way back. Joe Dooley and selectors deserve our praise and thanks as well.

Ye have had the handiest run to a Leinster final ever, but I wish ye the best of luck. Judging by the display against Westmeath ye'll need it!

Still in division three for next season, did reasonably well in it this year though, won our home games but lost all of our away ones if I remember correctly - each of them by a single point bar the Cavan one

yis are my favorites to get to the final this year lads.... i can't see louth playing as well as they did last year but if they did they have a great chance too. the only good thing about the one-sided draw is that it gives weaker teams great motivation for the year as they will believe they have every chance of getting to the final.
