Are Salthill still in it? Michaels beat them last night. Back door?

Ya they'd still finished second I think. The format is stupid though as you might have lost your two games but still be in a quarter final playing the team who finished second in the other group. The advantage of topping the group is you are straight into the semi

The format is hardly "stupid". The idea is to give 16/17/18 year olds at least 3 games this year which makes lots of sense if you want to keep lads playing football!

That's true especially when there was no league this year

Who'd be favourites in the two finals?

Tough to call the west board final. both teams played each other two weeks previous with Michaels emerging victorious by only 2 points. Should be a close one

Claregalway have to be strong favourites although Dunmore beat them already, you'd imagine it would happen twice..

St Michaels beat salthill Knocknacarra by a point in the west decider stopping their seven in a row And winning their first title since 2004
In the north claregalway also defeated Dunmore by a point
The two sides will now meet in the county final. Who are the favourites?

Must be Michaels after defeating the minor powerhouse of Salthill?

Tuam Stars and probably St. Jamses in the B final unless Leitir Móir can cause a major upset over the weekend. Strange to see the likes of Tuam and the Jimmies down in B.

Delighted for St Michael's, Claregalway with a very poor record in finals. Is that 4 lost out of 5? with the resources and population they have they will be disappointed.

Tuam Stars went years neglecting their underage system. They've been stuck in B football for ages from U20 down to U14. Their U14's won feile B last year at county level. They're beginning to move their underage back to A grade. It is years since they've won anything at A level.

Michael's were the better side alright despite being hit for 1-1 in the very first minute.

Agree, they got to A finals in under 14 and under 16 this year and I would expect them to be back in Minor A next year, but progress is been made..
Still think James might have too much tomorrow
