Senior Club Hurling Championship 2019

Mellows definitely the most impressive team on show over the weekend. They are a huge team and can all hurl. I feel they will get over the line in the final. Thomas's did what they had to do to beat a poor Turloughmore side who as per usual, didn't bite as bad as they barked. David Burke kept Daithi out of the game. Thomas's use of the ball was very impressive at times however, i dont think they are world beaters by any stretch of the imagination. Turlough just do not have the forwards and it is that simple. Sean Linnane would do all the hard things brilliantly and would fluff his attempts then. Putting the penalty wide was a mortal sin but to be fair to Badger, he had turned the game on its head when introduced. Feel a little bad for Cappy, however, Mellows were just too big and powerful for the,

Looking forward to the final.

Would have been much better to have the final in Athenry with a great atmosphere. It is not the same occasion in Pearse Stadium.

Would be better for hurling in the county if St. Thomas retain their title. Small club with all of their players from the small parish.

Mellows have assembled a nice team with their transferees from Salthill and Kinvara starring on Sunday. Mellows may look to enter the transfer market again this winter. However Salthill's imminent promotion to Intermediate may affect plans.

Co. Senior Hurling Final this Weekend
St. Thomas' v Liam Mellows
It should be a good match between two consistent teams..... but I'll go with a win for Thomas'.

Was in Salthill last night and plenty Mellows banners and flags around which is a bit strange considering Salthill might be intermediate next year! Dónal O Shea and Cathal Sweeney if it was 10 years ago would probably be playing for Mellowes already.

St. Thomas' v Borris-lleigh
Glad it's not Ballygunner Thomas' are playing....yes Borris are a good team and going well but I think their style will suit Thomas' and its 50/50 but I'd back St.Thomas' to win .
