Club Football 2021

If it was proposed to cover the cost of some of the training courses at a club meeting, most clubs wouldn't allow it but fork out Hundreds of euros every week to outsiders. An Irish Solution to an Irish problem. I would go as far as to say that if an outsider was willing to take on a managers job for nothing, they wouldn't be considered or looked at less favourably. Crazy the situation we have gotten the GAA into. Spilt season should help reduce the running costs, but with everyone looking over the neighbours fence I wouldn't hold my breath. Can hear the conversations already "their back training 3 times a week we should be aswell" and the gravy train for the few keeps on bleeding struggling GAA communities dry.

Club football in Monaghan has been quite poor in recent times, in comparison to 15 years ago. I look at the three premier winners this year and I doubt they'll be adding to much value to the county set up other than what is already there.

That's a very sweeping comment. Monaghan has 29 Clubs and always compete well in Ulster competition whoever wins the Championship at different levels. There is a lot of talented young players coming through the Schools and Development Squads as well. I wouldn't be too downhearted on Monaghan football.

Replying To latefortraining:  "Gary played very little last year. Suffering with back trouble. James had a bad knee injury and missed most of the season. James is a fittness instructor so I assume the plan is he will cover the training he won't be playing himself until August at the earliest. Toome were the only team to get anywhere close to aughnamullen last year. If the can their ducks in a row they won't be far away."
Gary Wilson still going to play the other two brothers Colin and Damien and Stephen Quinn over toome some rows in that house
