No loss, the 2 big men from the north didn't last too long, They played way to much negative football, the game has moved on. even do they lost badly the Tipp lads played with great flair at the weekend and if they had to get them goals early on in the game it would have been different, put they are young and up and coming and will learn from it.

The Cavan game was a waste of time, Mick Graham got it badly wrong, he was too negative and it pretty much summed up Ulster football, the likes of Monaghan or Cavan will never win the All Ireland but they should at least put up a fight. Monaghan win Ulster on average every 12-15 years so the next time we do, we need to learn from the likes of Mayo,Tipp, Kerry and the Dubs how to play the game the way it should be. I would love to get a Stephen Rochford but the likes of these managers would never come to us, which is a real problem.

What are you on about?

Louth got Mickey Harte.
Sligo got Tony McEntee.
Antrim got Enda McGinley and Stephen O'Neill

Monaghan is a Division 1 Team with a lot of young talent coming through, with a strong club scene. Any of those managers would have jumped at the chance to manage Monaghan.

Other options:
Jim McGuinness
Mickey Moran
Kevin McStay
Ross Carr
Oisin McConville
Paul Clarke
Paul Curran
John McEntee
Niall Moyna
Mick Bohan

I would say any of those options would be interested in managing Monaghan.

Can you imagine the tales those boys are going to bring to their new posts after having front seats to the circus for a whole year?

Down have pulled a packed U20 Mgt team together.
Have Monaghan appointed anyone yet? This the age group that won the u17 title under Banty or at least the bones of them.
Will need key additions to senior Mgt team plus U20 set up unless last years still in place.

I assume Andy Callan is still in charge?

Banty will probably get Paul Grimley back assisting him. The v few who backed his appointment a year back claimed donnelly and laverty would do all the coaching and it was a strong with banty just accomdating it. Now its just himself and mccague the u20 mgmt team from 2019. You couldn't make it up or predict that would be the team that would succeed malachy. Absolute shambles but no better man to brazen it out.

No point in having anyone in the Banty backroom team because when it comes to it he listens to nobody. But like the pandemic this era too will pass. Just hope the damage to Monaghan football isn't too great.
