Death of Club Football

(Oldest Posts First)

Was at the second half of our club game on Friday as i was working and couldn't get to the start of it and the treatment of club players was a topic that alot of people were talking about
Why were games changed at such short notice for a County team social event?
Why did the county players have to go through a very tough training session on the Thursday leaving them unable to play anywhere near their best for their club?
Why were the games at 7.15 meaning that some club players could not make the start of the game?
When was the last time the county players trained with their club?
Club players don't get travel expenses to go to training or games, they don't get coaches to and from matches, meals after training and games or gear, gear and more gear club players don't get expenses for loss of earnings unlike county players or the very best of medical treatment but many do train 3, or 4 times a week and give their best for their club but they are being treated very poorly

Many clubs are get fed up with the way their games are being disrupted due to the influence of the county senior team management, There is particular concern that some county panelists that don't make the county team anyway are still not allowed to play for their club during these restricted periods. My thinking is that all the county players would benefit by continuing to play for their club as it would make them sharper and game ready and their lack of games cllearly demonstrated that they weren't match ready against Cavan. I suggest this matter should be brought to the county convention for discussion this year.

Well guys there will be almost 4 weeks without any senior club league game and if Fermanagh win another few weeks. At this rate it will be Christmas Eve before league football concludes for the season!

So the Tyrone boys have to play club games the day after there qualifier game against Roscommon but the Fermanagh management think that the Fermanagh players could not play 3 days after there qualifier game?

Club football in Fermanagh has been a complete joke this year.
A master fixture list that isn't worth the paper it's written.
Games being called off and fixed for Tuesday nights by the county management.
County players unable to give 100 % for their clubs because they were flogged at county training the nights and in one case, the morning before fixtures.
Fixtures being handed out by the county board with less than 1 weeks notice and then being changed/called off.
No senior league games in July but do not worry, we can always get them played in November.
A county board that is struggling financially and is trying burden clubs with the debt again and thank god, the clubs have had enough.
People wonder what's wrong with Fermanagh football.
The answer begins with the county board and there disgraceful treatment of Fermanagh club footballers this year.
