Fermanagh Minors

(Oldest Posts First)

As the Minors begin their Ulster championship campaign, the perennial question again arises viz. Should the County team be represented exclusively by St Michaels College team? This year the question is more pertinent than ever before with the College team, made up entirely of Fermanagh players, having recently been crowned All-Ireland champions for the first time. Any views folks?

What a stupid question!! So you want to right off any player that isn't in St. Michael's?? There has been many great players over the years who have never set foot in St. Michael's... Barry Mulrone/Shane Goan/Seamie Quigley to name a few. There could potentially be a player of a similar standard at minor level in Fermanagh.

The answer, at least according to the Irish News, is 5. Lets hope that additional skill and experience is enough to make them competitive. Regardless, Ádh mór to the young lads!

sorry but what ever is going on at youth development at county level is failing and failing badly
I read also where the U15 development squads went down by 13-16 to 3 points and 3-9 to 4 points over the weekend to armagh
That on top of the scores the U17s racked up this year means we are doing something very wrong in these squads and its needs overhauling

Good to see that Fermanagh bring in lads from schools winning teams tho , in Down red high school won Mclarnon cup under 19 competition , only 1 lad on the minor match day squad against Monaghan who only came on lad few minutes, another lad who scored 3 points from play in Mclarnon final didn't even get called back onto the squad ,
