Kilcoo v Burren

(Oldest Posts First)

I think we are in for a good Down final. Burren look better setup than previous years and their management looks more competent than before. Kilcoo look as strong as ever and I think they will just edge it again but i wouldn't be surprised if Burren pipped them.... looking forward to it.

massive congrats to kilcoo on there 6 in a row a serious achievement. Burren started v fast but missed some scoreable chances and once kilcoo got to grips with midfield they controlled the game, then there was only one winner.
Would love to see them go on and win ulster would be a great boost to down football, and hopefully Eamon burns can get a few more of them into the down panel.

Yes kilcoo deserved it. Burren have improved but just can't deal with kilcoo in the big games...

I still rate the Burren team of the 80's as the best Down Club team ever, and will continue to do so even if they break the 6 in a row record next year.

Unless Kilcoo can start converting county titles into Ulsters and All Ireland's, like that Burren team did.

I don't think anyone who knows their history would dispute that Spirit.

Kilcoo at this time remind me of Crossmaglen and are obviously aiming to get the Ulster club title. They would probably need to beat Slaughtneil to do it and if they could manage that, I see no reason they couldn't go on and lift the All Ireland too.

Yes hopefully can go on and do it this year. I'd also admit the ulster & ai club championship is a much bigger deal now than it was then.

I do remember that Burren Team being absolutely superb though, in every position. At their peak no club in Down could get within 10 pts of them. I also think I am right in saying that a lot of those six finals were extremely one-sided.
