Do you really think it doesn't matter? Are you condoning his actions?
Bernardo - good post and I'd like to think most Currin people would echo your sentiments. On the game itself, Currin were deserved winners.

Seans hadn't enough firepower to convert possession into enough scores. Losing 3 starting forwards from the semi final team was obviously more than they could handle, Currin held out well to win - probably better overall, but not much in it.
The incident you referred to before half time was sickening and has no place in football.

Currin conceding their league games before the semi final and final looks a smart move in hindsight, Seans lost a few lads in those games that didn't make it back for the final.

Yeah the Seans wer daft to show respect for the rest of the teams in junior especially those fighting for top 4 place..

Footyfan if you think the Seans were showing respect to the other teams in junior by field a team , your deluded.
They have about 38 men togged ever game.
They could have easily fielded a second string team and still have subs left over in any of their last two league games.
They had a 18 game unbeaten streak which they wanted to keep.
The rest of the clubs in junior don't have the luxury of been able to field two teams,
Rock did it last year in intermediate and reached the championship final, Currin were only looking after themselves and are entitled to do so.
don't be surprised if currin don't field again if they have an ulster club game close to a league fixture.

Carrick go in as hot favourites going on their form throughout the year but favourites are there to be beaten. Aughnamullen would need to play at their very best and Carrick to play below their best for an upset, a win for Carrick for me by about 6pts

Carrick easily by at least 10-12 points provided they are properly foccussed on the match -- amullen struggled to beat tyholland - carrick beat them by 20 odd points -

Aughnamullen defence is very poor - they pull back young mc ardle as a sweeper and that will invite carrick onto them on a big pitch

Take a wee look at the stats Frank. Aughnamullen have the best defensive record in the Intermediate championship

Spot on last poster but carrick has classy forwards

Today's final has the potential to be very one sided in Carricks favour. They look every bit a senior team in terms of personnel, physically, fitness and tactically. The speed in there forward line is incredible to watch, explosive players able to execute the skills of the game at full speed is not something I'm used to seeing in Monaghan football recently. Peter Pip Duffy style runs from the O Hanlon Brothers is worth the admission fee alone.
You probably couldn't put together two more different teams Carrick look the part but as we know that's not always a key to success Aughnamullen will bring a mix of ignorance, aggression and old school approach to the game that will make it very uncomfortable for Carrick mixed in with some very capable footballers in Dooney, Bannagin and McArdle the Sweeper will have to match his excellent semi final performance and more if they are to have any chance!
Looking forward to a great game with two contrasting styles if Carrick do win they'll win the All Ireland.

Good win for carrick but a club of their size and talent should not be in intermediate. There well fit to be competing at senior level, it's only 9 years since they won the Senior league. It would be a huge let down to see them back in intermiedate any time soon.

Carrick are the standout team in intermediate they were always going to win the championship. It took them a good while to break down the Aughnamullens blanket 14 men behind the ball defence oHanlons second goal a few minutes after halftime swung the game in Carricks favour and there was no way back for Aughnamullen. As another poster said Carrick should not be in intermediate for such a big club. Now that they are going back up senior the question is how will they do? Looking at them this years they are a big strong and very fit team with serious pace up front I think they could surprise a lot of people next year if they can add and keep this team together.

Was at the IFC final at the weekend. Carrick look solid all over the field. Very strong up the middle and up front they have some serious potential. Aughnamullen have to get credit as they played the best they could, just came up against serious opposition. Would Malachy O Rourke be contacting any from either team? O Hanlons surely have to be in plans if they could commit.

No they were not called up as Stephen and Kevin play basketball in the winter and there cousin Peter was on the panel a few years ago but could not give a full commitment because as far as I know he was in college in England. Hope the three of them join the panel as the would be great additions especially Stephen as hes an unreal talent who would get his place on any county team hes a fantastic footballer with serious pace, and his brother Kevin is not to far behind him.
