hope mcgeeney doesn't bail on us if we do lose we still need him he's the best man for the job. people go on about glenn Ryan but he's no better it be a step backwards for kildare football he wasn't won a game all season.
we should not be even talking about mcgeeney leaving the dub are looking good for the all Ireland and we just can't hide from that.

A lot of Kildare people would be more than happy to see the back of Mcgeeney.

For some peculiar reason a lot of non- Kildare people would be more than happy to see McGeeney go !! Even some of our dear neighbours with our best interests at heart !

Why are we talking about new managers already lads?? and I hope McGeeney doesn't go the best man to bring forward even still, had put his heart and soul into Kildare football since 2008 at times his tactics can b questionable and at times he has made some mad decisions but not sure if there is anyone else out there...

Mcgeeney is the man for the job imo. Talk about big 'gap' emerging between top(division1) sides and the rest I shudder to think the state we would be in or how far we would be behind now had Mcgeeney not come in 2008. As said above Mcgeeney has and continues to give everything for kildare football. It's a new enough kildare team that will take to the field in over a weeks time he needs to be giving the time to mould this team. Daytona Jason Ryan Is involved and Mcgeeney needs to be commended for bringing him in. I remember Jason Ryan saying at the time of his appointment that he took the job with kildare as HIS role more flexible and allowed for more time to be spent with the family etc. Isnt great to have both involved? why lose one of them? No one else out there good enough imho. Mc Geeney to stay for me. Anyway we have a big game to look forward to in 9 days and this is not the time to be talking about this.

I would prefer to see a Kildare man in charge and there are plenty of capable men within the county but that's a discussion for after the championship.

I hope to god Mcgeeney stays on. Anyone who suggests that Glen Ryan should get the job seriously need their head examined. Anyway to early to be discussing his future just yet

lads do people remember where we were before mc geeney came? we got beat comfortably to louth in the qualifiers in 2007 and it's the last defeat we've had in the qualifiers! mc geeney has not only improved the team but he has changed our aspirations for the better! we had never been in a quarter final before he came and now our season is seen as a failure if we dont reach the last 8! mc geeney has given us some great days over the past few years lads and we have to remember that , he's just unfortunate dublin have been so dominant in leinster the past few years, they're the better team and i dont think there's anything we or mc geeney can do about that. as regards to glenn ryan being manager, yes he was a great player but he hasn't proven himself as an adequate manager yet

One might have thought the players have helped contribute in some way to Kildare's progress as well

One question Kildare lads and I'm not stirring; do you think your a better team now than you were in '10/11 under Mcgeeney? If you don't then surely he's taken you as far as he can? For me in '11 When Kildare played Donegal they were the way better team and should have won that game comfortably but somehow lost but instead of kicking on (like mcguinness and Donegal have) Kildare have gone way back.

I think Kildare peaked in 2010 or even early 2011 and definitely regressed last year. This is a much different side now with all the young players and they will certainly improve next year. So Dublin better make the most of this year as things will never be the same again!!!!

maybe he has taken them as far as he can but what if he leaves and the next guy doesn't do as well? not the best manager in the world but a good one non the less. jason ryan is a huge addition.

Have we gone way back? In 2010 we conceded 1-22 to Louth and snuck a draw with Antrim after Paddy Cunningham missed a last minute free in Newbridge. That was a championship of big upsets and consequently we nearly made the final. 2011 was a more consistent year but I don't think we've fallen back too far from then. There are a lot of reasons why we lost games by sizeable margins last year, sendings off, injuries, media scutiny, etc. This year I think we seem to have remedied some of those issues. There's nothing concrete to suggest that last year's decline will be terminal. I've been critical of him at times but I wouldn't write him off yet.

Our defence has disimproved since 2011. Although we only got a round further in 2010 I think 2011 was our best year under McGeeney. We lost two games by a point to the next two All Ireland winners.

I think so Doublehop; hammered by an average Meath team last year , blessed to beat a terrible limerick team after extra time and hammered by Cork in the quarter final , it's hardly 2010 stuff were you's were an inch away from an all Ireland final.

_________

in 2011 Dublin where far better than the one point margain of victory suggested v Kildare. Kildare almost robbed a draw/victory from us. Admittedly we robbed you's with that late free but from the first to the sixty-seventh minute Dublin where in cruise control.

It was still only a one point defeat regardless of how the game went overall. Kildare's defence was very good that day and they didn't allow Dublin to get out of sight for all their supposed dominance. I don't think the 2013 version of our defence is quite as good.
