now now grandagrokepoke...lets play nicely!! it's a bonus that they're getting Antrim/Antrim team to travel at all, so small steps like the peace process.

the person/persons who thought of taking Ballygalget to owenbegs should be ashamed of themselves theres not much FAIRNESS running through yr viens but knowing Ballygalget itwill give them that extra spur to hurl themselves outta their skins and win the game so i just hope the person who thought of this s feeling VERY UNSPORTMANSHIP,,galgets 2 win by 2pts

Sliothar I admire your optimism, it certainly isnt a wide held belief within our own parish let alone the rest of the hurling fraternity. I know personally if I was playing I would be itching to get at them, a star player and the manager talking about winning All-Irelands, no mention or respect shown to Ballygalget at all. I really hope we can win, this would shock most people but knowing a lot of the Ballygalget team they have pride in themselves and will not be turning up to get a hammering as some quarters may suggest.

Antrim never have to travel too far in any Ulster competitions, looks like this was conceived as a "neutral" venue lol just a pity it takes one team double the time to get there. You actually never know what can happen on any given day, Loughuile might not perform to the heights we know they can, Ballygalget might play my opinion if Ballygalget are reasonably close at half time they will be in with a shout.

Long John its good to see you are alive old chap, seen you last week...on the old jungle juice were we??? terrible state lol

@Bricktop: not much of an example of how to play in the spirit of the game from Portaferry at the weekend. Sticking to that won't win you much. As for venue, everywhere is out of the way from ards, Belfast has no decent facilities at the moment so Dungiven is a fine choice and not exactly a home venue for Loughgiel! 100 miles each to that the preferred choice?!

I do feel for Galgets on this one , but dont forget its a double header with Coleraine and Creggan playing beforehand which is perfect for both of them . So out of 4 teams there is usually one that gets shafted in this case its Galgets unfortunately.

@ Red31.

What happened at Portaferry at the weekend?

It could hardly compare to the goings on in Waterfoot.

I didnt get to the match yesterday unfortunately but was talking to a few lads this morning who did go and asked what they thought.

They thought Ballygalget did very well and put it up to Loughgiel but maybe with more belief could have been closer. Long journey wouldnt have helped their cause and a few looked a bit unfit but over all they were pleased at the efforts of the players who gave everything they had - thats all you can ask of any team I suppose. I believe young McManus gave winker his fill of it and that doesnt happen too often.

I suppose it was bonus territory for the geen and whites as not many would have thought they would have got as far as they did but they are always a good championship team and very very hard to beat. Sorry to hear that Graham Clarke has decided to retire but he has been fantastic for Ballygalget, Down, Ulster and in the poc fada - enjoy the retirement Graham but Im sure he wont be too far away from Mitchell Park in the future

Don't think our lads il be too upset today w/ that performance they gave yesterday. Was a fantastic game to watch and tbh I don't think we r that far behind Loughiel. If it wasn't for their keeper yesterday it could of been a different outcome.

Well done to Loughgiel on their victory yesterday. They didn't underestimate the Mitchell men, and there appeared to be no complacency (the sign of a good team). Fair play to Ballygalget and in fairness the result didn't surprise me to be honest as I knew they would put up a huge battle (Hardy Men). The future looks bright for the Galget Men and hopefully they can bounce on form here. All the best to big Graham and hope he enjoys retirement. A great ambassador for our game and respected all over the country by the Hurling community.

Great performance by Ballygalget and unfortunately they just feel short. Probably the toughest match Loughgiel have had this season.

It was a great game, if only Ballygalget had have got out of the blocks quicker they may have had a chance of pulling of the upset. Great to see some young lads on the Ballygalget team yesterday. Loughgiel are a fantastic team and will take some beating. Let's hope that the Ulster final is a close encounter.

Viewing the game there was only ever going to be one winner and Loughgiel did that at a canter. To be honest I thought they did not have to get out of 1st gear. The score line flattered Ballygalget........... but they did try.
