Thanks turfcutter. Hoping we can add the Ulster Championship to the Christy Ring achievement. That would be an incredible season.

Brilliant stuff lads! Very happy for you all and very proud to be a Down hurling man today. Down Hurling is a very special thing and it is great to see the hurlers and mentors and supporters finally get the recognition and reward they deserve for all the blood, sweat and tears.

What a fantastic result yesterday. Soooo very proud to be a Down Hurling fan. The boys gave the fantastic support a day to remember. A truly historic day for Down hurling. Well done to Gerard and his management team on inspiring this group of players to such an achievement. How fitting that Paul Braniff lifted the first cup Down hurlers have won for a long long time. These lads and all involved with them have worked so hard over the last few seasons.... and at times have taken a lot of criticism. They really deserved their day in the sun in Croker. I can only imagine how delighted they feel. Great result, great support...the Down flags certainly outnumbered the Kerry ones! To all involved, all true Down hurling fans are proud of each and everyone of you. Thank you for the day and for the memories which will last for a long time!

Great game in Croke Park yesterday. Both teams played their hearts out and there were some great scores. Result in doubt right up to the final whistle. Great to come away with the win a reward for all the loyal Down fans who came out in big numbers. It was good to see so many wait behind for the presentation. Some supporters stayed so long they got locked in. No better man than dule to lift the cup, delighted for him and magic. Great experience for some of the younger members of the squad. We need to build on this success and start moving back up the divisions. Looking forward to the Ulster final. An Dun Abu

Delighted to see Paul lift the cup yesterday a gentleman and a true athlete. Will winning the Cristy cup complete his carrear as he contemplates retirement? Every player tried their hearts out and obtained their ultimate goal. A little bit of history made, Down"s first Cristy Ring and I think the two Conlon boys getting winner medals for different counties. Well done one and all.

Is there any homecoming reception planned for the 2013 Christy Ring Champions? So delighted for the whole panel. What a great launch pad and platform to build the future of Down Hurlen upon. There's a great passion across the whole county for the small ball game. I saw men, women and children in Croke yesterday from every corner of our great county and the excitement and joy when that final whistle went was incredible. What a fantastic day out and one that will live with me for many many years.

Just after looking at all the Christy Ring Results
Kerry beats you's 3-16 to 2-17 in the 1st round !
so must of been sweet to beat them with the same score in the final

plus this time in 2weeks we will be looking forward to an Ulster final, and yourself's the backdoor !! LOL

Good man wee buns; time will tell if that happens or not but what a day on Saturday - weather was superb and so was the hurling. Really enjoyed the Donegal match too, some parful point taking in it as well.

Our lads were magnificient esp Conor Woods, Michael Ennis and Gareth Johnston - but they all battled manfully and im sure the heat on that pitch was unreal. Heros all and into the history books and fully deserved too as Kerry snagged us in the first round with a goal at the end so to do the same to them makes it even sweeter esp with the scoreline eactly the same only in our favour - an dun abu

Great press coverage of the super result. Magic rightly getting a lot of praise for his last minute goal. Just want to say that I think Stephen Keith deserves special mention too for saving the free which came after that when Kerry went for a goal on the last stroke of the game. Well done to both of them and to Captain Fantastic for intelligently sending the ball in to the forwards enabling Magic's "flick." As I said previously, great team performance from every one of them. Good use of subs too by the management. Hope they all got a good welcome in the clubs last night.

We need to build on the success of Saturdays win. lets hope the fans get on the road again on Sunday and we have big support again for the boys in the Ulster Championship clash with Armagh. Pride has been restored to the jersey and if we keep up our support for the hurlers it will breed further success and the youngsters will really strive to wear the red and black of Down. The minors Ulster win last year means we have a supply of talent ready to come through. The future is bright for Down hurling but only if everyone plays their part.

Totally agree we need big support for the next game. Want to point out that the game is in Newry and this is NOTHING to do with the hurlers OR the County Board as these fixtures are decided by Ulster Council and they would have opted for either Athletic grounds or Newry. Please don't get in a tizzy over this and go back to "we won't go to newry". Just get behind the lads and the management who have given us all such an exciting few weeks. THEY deserve our support.. lets give them a MASSIVE welcome as they take the field for the first time as.Christy Ring Champions. lets give them the support they had in Croker.... and the respect they have earned. Those in the County Board who took the brave decision to bring the semi final replay to Mc Kenna deserve to see that it was appreciated. So, lets get out in huge numbers and cheer the boys to a victory and to further success in the Ulster Championship. I really believe we can beat Antrim this year.....but we need the support to do it. Good luck to all.

I wondered why it was in Newry but the reason given makes sense and ive heard since Casement isnt available, will this be the same for the semi-final if we beat Armagh? - minors are on first so all aboard the ferry and across the county, en route to Newry on Sunday, to see the lads in the first match back as Christy Ring Champions

At the minute the semi is supposed to be in casement at 7.30p.m.! final is in Derry due to City of Culture. Don't know if it is def Casement for semi....every match that is played there at the minute is billed as the last! But I don't think they have got the go ahead for the new Casement yet so who knows! However we need to beat Armagh first so big crowd needed to support the minors and the CHRISTY RING CHAMPIONS. We must show Armagh how passionate we are about our hurlers. Lift the roof off the stand when they take the pitch. THAT is how we can show our appreciation of their massive win last Saturday. Come on Down.
