going to be a long year for the 3 down teams. I can't see any of the down teams beating the top 3, so they will be looking to pick up points from each other and ballycastle/St Johns.

Its going to be tough for the Ards teams,it always is especially with only eight teams every point is hard earned but its the best hurling league in Ulster to be in

was at the cushendall and ports match the day. poor match and both teams looked less than bothered to be honest. boys holding on to possession far too long on both teams then getting cut out.
graffin was dalls best player by a country mile. your wee man mageean, corner forward for ports did pretty well. think he got 3 and should have had more.

if our match last wed night is anything to go by i wouldnt read too much into the first league games. good to get back at it all the same.

Do any Down referees do matches in the Antrim leagues?

Thought Milligan did a good job on the whole and was prepared to let the game flow, maybe a couple of dodgy decisions but overall I think if he continues to let the game flow he will be a very good referee....Have to say the crans didn't do themselves any favours in the 1st half with the chances they missed but the galgets were clinical in the few chances they had in the first half. Ballygalget then dominated a lot of play in the second half and their defence did well to keep the crans out in the last ten mins or so. Good game of hurling and great performances in particular from Joe Smyth and Ben Toner. Long year ahead though for all the peninsula teams.

Galgets will hope to get the points in that one. Ports & Crans have no chance. :(

You can only play whats infront of you. A draws a draw. Well Done.

i was in Portaferry yesterday, there was 5 starters from the all ireland final. Even so they would have been expected to beat portaferry who are still down a few big players..Very young Portafrry team also!

agree with the guvner, I'm not a Portaferry man either but you can only play whats put in front of you, regardless of the team that Loughuile put out they would be strong enough, some of their second teams over this past few years would be full of very good hurlers so I wouldn't say it was a poor team they put out, although I wasn't at the match thats just my passing opinion, the Ports may be glad of that point at the end of the season.

sliathar, ye must no more than the Loughgiel manager cos he said there was 6 of his potential 1st team missing man! typical "get" negative vibes, negative vibes man. I looked at the Antrim league Div1 table........
3 30 PM Portaferry 1-14 2-11 Loughgiel Shamrocks Terry Reilly 2...... (Oh by the way some of the Loughgeil players were on a stag)

History books will give the result and nothing else man.

Give credit where credit is due man!!!!
