Support Our Footballers Next Saturday

(Oldest Posts First)

Lads the footballers have made great progress this year. It's really important we give them our support next week. Supporters and team need to give their all. It's a long time since we had two teams in the senior and minor semi. We can give a serious performance here but we need to support the team. We are fortunate to have our hurlers going so well and I look forward to two weeks time. This week though let's get to Dublin and give the footballers a big support

Well said, the hunt for hurling final tickets has begun. This now gives people the opportunity to prove they are Galway fans.

Well said. One poor performance is not a reason to desert this team.

Absolutely the best season in 17 years they deserve our support. Let the rest of the country say what they like but we need to support our own

Totally Agree. The players have given us great days this year to this point. They deserve our support.

Absolutely. Good that our minors are there as well as this will add to support. Being a good year so far and in last 4 however we got there always a key aim. I remember in '98 we were on a crest of a wave and had 25k ish or thereabouts from Galway alone against Derry in the semi that year. If we could get a decent percent of that number at least won't be as outnumbered by the home support. I know the hurling only support are focussed on Sun week but in the eyes of solidarity I would ask the hurling people who follow football as well to give this team the support they deserve. I know many people who are football primarily have given great support to the hurlers over the years.

Absolutely. I've took the time off work (hard to come by at this time of year in my trade) and will be there.
These lads will leave NOTHING on the pitch.

Have to say this bunch of players, to a man, are honest, dedicated and deserving of our full support. I also think a bond has now developed between supporters and players. Let's all get to Croke Park (theatre of dreams) and ring out the "Galway, Galway" chant.. always guaranteed to raise the hair on the back of neck...

Would be great craic if some crowd could get the fields of athenry going. That would for sure give the players a kick to go on and perform.

Agreed. Let's get behind the lads. It will be a great day. They've done us proud this year. Best of luck to the minors also.

We've won in Castlebar, Roscommon, Newbridge and beat Kerry in Croker in championship this year. If that doesn't warrant a trip to Croker on Saturday you aren't a supporter in any fashion imo, not even a sunshiner. The lads and management deserve as many maroon and white jerseys up against the sea of blue as possible.

Best of luck to Kevin, Brian and all the players. Will be travelling early to beat the traffic and shout on the minors too.
