Gary Sice

(Oldest Posts First)

Just want to say a very well done and best of luck to Gary Sice on his retirement from the inter county fold.
He was an integral player for Galway for the last ten years probably during Galways weaker years but winning Connacht in 2016 and his performances in the bigger games will always be remembeerd. Looking forward to seeing him continue for Corofin and i would say in future years managing teams .

As soon as I saw the heading... I knew this thread was started by Belclare.

Indeed he was a good servant. Took a few years to mature into the footballer he became. Will always remember that goal in the replay on the day DC ran riot.

Fantastic servant to Galway football over the years. Hopefully we see him in a coaching role with Galway some time in the near future.

A man made of tough stuff. That goal against the Rossies up in 2016 sent a few thousand fans home early. All the best to him in retirement.

Privlage to see him play in the Galway Jersey. Had a few great chats with the man on and off the pitch.
Great Player and Gentle-Man.

What a player and a pure gentleman. It must have cost him a small fortune with the number of pairs of gloves he gave away after matches to kids. The sign of a serious player is the attention they get from the opposition and he got plenty of it..... he was also able to give it back, nothing asked for and nothing given. It is a pity Alan Mullholland dropped him when he did as he was one of a few setting standards and demanding more from those around him, but for that he would have played the 100 games. Galway's loss will be Corofin's gain, with the condition he keeps himself in he could be chasing Frank Fox for another five or six years.
