Wasn't at it but heard after an awful fifty minutes we played for a quarter of an hour and got three lucky goals. We haven't played at all so far. If we are going to make division one we will need to up our game big time

Great win at the weekend, we made hard work of it but a win is a win. Team is starting to get stronger as we go on highballlowball (Westmeath) - Posts: 12 - 05/02/2019 14:21:31 2162757 Link 0 |
Strong second half display today against Antrim . Mitchell made a big difference when introduced. Good to see the Jogger returning to form. Derek McNicholas 2 scores from lineballs were exceptional. midfield9 (Westmeath) - Posts: 54 - 17/02/2019 17:17:42 2165900 Link 1 |

well they are as good if not better than Carlow on paper anyway and they look to be staying up in 1b...running Dublin close and drawing with mighty galway

Definitely cannot say better yet. They played Carlow in two finals last year and bottled it both times! With a new manager this year hopefully they can finally get up to 1B for next season. How are Westmeath shaping up at underage in hurling now? They haven't done much since that good team with the two Doyles. Matthew (None) - Posts: 923 - 18/02/2019 16:17:02 2166175 Link 0 |
The team is still a bit lacking for 1b. Carlow are physically bigger and have more forwards that can win their own ball in the air. This Westmeath team can win the league but the opposition is poor and the Mcdonagh cup will be a big step up. We need Varley back and no injuries to have a chance.

Any news on venue for D2 final v Kerry RAHKILL (Westmeath) - Posts: 395 - 27/02/2019 17:33:00 2168748 Link 0 |
i think it will be announced today. This is a massive game,if we can win it will put us in division 1 for first time in many years. The reality though despite winning in Tralee Kerry are playing better we will need a massive performance for seventy minutes something we havent seen since the Offaly game in 2016.

A huge game and massive for hurling in the county. I assume no bus is going from Mullingar to it? There could be demand for it as I wouldn't expect the match is on tv. Matthew (None) - Posts: 923 - 04/03/2019 17:59:00 2170195 Link 0 |
I see Club iarmhi are running a bus
