Hurlers, Camogs and lady footballers

Three All Ireland titles in 15 months....well done to the ladies today. Excellent win. Theses three "minority" sports now need to get more support not only from Co Board but from all Down gaels. Great role models for all.

100% agree and I see Downpatricks Trainor, who did'nt start (!), was awarded the man of the match trophy! They have done their County proud (camogs and ladies footballers) in what has been a superb season for all the girls in red & black!

Scorers for Down: K Trainor 2-4, A Pyres 1-5 (0-2f), L Cunningham 1-2, S McNamee 1-1, L Morgan 1-1 (1-0 pen), J Magee, S Fegan, G McClean 0-1 each

Amazing effort from all involved with the senior ladies set-up in bioth codes. Tremendous year for AnDún and one which should be duly recognised and celebrated. Also a very astute observation in the OP- The question remains, will we see these sports given more funding to keep our county at the top of their grade, or more importantly to push on and improve further still.

Dont forget about the Under 16 hurlers All Ireland B Blitz winners 2 years in a row. Maybe this year they might just receive their medals as they are still waiting on them from last year. "Down Way" my a**e

never worry about a bit of tin at U-16, worry about silver and gold (alloy) at senior level.

Plus I'm sure it isn't DCB's fault, surely Croke Park provide those.
