Pretenders Not Contenders

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

We are really fooling ourselves lads. We will never see Sam in Kildare. Today's display was the worst ever drastic changes need to be made and I dont think its just on the field. Cork walked all over a flat footed Kildare today and the game isnt over yet what a display. Alot of questions to be asked after this one I feel and I think that things must changes in our style of play.

we were outplayed in all areas of the field w w are an open book I think as every team can now read our way of playing. what was the idea of playing the ball back at times instead of kicking it too the forwards or try run with it we looked like a div 4 team not one that is going to be playing div 1 this year maybe we as fans have been too blind to what others were saying all along we just dont have the bottle for these big games. only thing was good was that Hugh Lynch appeared for the last minute or two so nice to see him back.

where too from here I ask

count awesome

hindsigh no support?????

support is attending every match travelling all over the country during qualifiers that as fans we do but do ye not think a time has come that we do have to start asking the question that may be seen as oh as a fan we shouldnt be asking . but on two occasions this year when the big days were there leinster semi and quarter final out team just faded away from the challange why there has to be a reason. I have supported kildare football for years and I feel that this year was our worst performance in the all ireland serious where its our 4th or 5th year we should be real contenders we have the so called experience

Look all slagging aside it just not working out probably Kildare best team ever has been let down by off field sbananigans. Time to put Kildare men and players to the fore. Starting at the top

I do agree with one of your points that the off field happening at the begining of the campaign didnt help the prep and what happened the night before the leinster semi surely must have got to players these days modern technology etc tweets been sent texts etc players were being asked questions by media etc that was something that wasnt needed in the run up to big games. and as much as some people may like to think that it didnt effect the players it surely has had too in some way.this year we stepped back instead of forward that will surely have to be looked at if we are ever to get into the run again for all ireland glory things will have to change in some form. I feel now that maybe to remain in div 1 of league and a run at leinster should surely be the goal for next year some say no we done leinster already but this team didnt

so we need to start again with the basics im afraid thats where we are.

Kildare are better than they showed today. A new manager could really inject some freshness to help ye push on for silverware in 2013.

happy enough with the year after the meath defeat brought into context where we are,i'm not one of those sam maguire dreamers and we could have been caught in the qualifiers but battled on to make a quarters which is our limit. The dreamers think there is another gear, i think mcgeeney has made us peak and a top 8 team is our peak just not top 5, dont have the forwards. you'll have a few who think that a new manager will find 6 scoring forwards and a lovely free scoring system of football but we all know what they know about football. Mcgeeney to stay and keep us competitive, we can be top 8 or 17th with a local manager, pick one! What do folk think, Jason Ryan or Banty come in and transform us into champions, can anyone see more than 3 new players being introduced to this panel, sure these are the best set of players we have and they do alright for us, 20 other teams were wishing they were in a quarter final today, no? Roll on next year, sure what the hell else are we gonna do, turn to cricket?

That your 48th sub fries since you surfaced on this site sometime in the middle of last week almost all of them have been on the Kildare forum with an exception or two appearing on the hs general forum. All of them have consisted of stupid little digs at either the Kildare team, management, performance, finances or other what have you.

You are no where to be seen on the Laois forum in any of the 4 top threads on that site Laois Next Manager Laois v Dublin Meath v Laois or Round 3 Quallifer v Letrim.

So that leave me worried for you, wondering are you OK can anything be done to cure this this condition you suffer from or are you always going to have this inferiority complex which manifests itself in a daft obsession with all things relating to Kildare GAA.

I do feel sorry for the real kildare gaa men and women who have been let down by many of the new Kildare support (many I'd say from armagh) who have brought kildare to this level bringing in cavan players and whinging. Its not the Kildare style. I look forward to Kildare people standing up and saying no to Ulster

No talent coming through from underage at all. We will never get another Leinster. Will always support the boys though.

Bit harsh Daith , Eoin Doyle , Padraig Fogarty , Fionn Dowling , Feely , Hurley , Mulhall , Reynolds , Moolick are all fairly talented and there aren't many really good teams in Leinster , Dublin are very good , Meath , Wexford , Longford and Laois are ok so Kildare will always have a chance to be honest I think you are letting your emotions cloud your judgement at this time Daith
