Still don't see any team that will even run the minors close though they will win it easily. galwayman2 (Galway) - Posts: 821 - 02/07/2019 08:52:12 2204114 Link 0 |
A Canning like performance from Sean McDonagh yesterday. Unbelievable how he is carrying the team even withstanding the amount of talent around him on this squad, he is still miles ahead of everyone else. galway19 (Galway) - Posts: 131 - 29/07/2019 15:27:26 2218260 Link 0 |

KK lost by a goal to us the last day, they would be happy with another day out in final, total crap system. Hope to have young Morgan back fit. Anybody see the red card incident on McGlynn besides linesman? suckvalleypaddy (Galway) - Posts: 1406 - 29/07/2019 16:04:52 2218284 Link 1 |
Ya, I was at the match and saw it.

Best of luck to the lads on Sunday, any word about the captain, is he disqualified? maroondiesel (Mayo) - Posts: 1060 - 16/08/2019 12:16:07 2226359 Link 0 |
He's in ok. Good luck on Sunday to all. Still feel it is a major mistake to have changed from U-18 to U-17 for Minor. Lads are not mature enough at all. seriously needs to be revisited. SixtiesKid (Galway) - Posts: 159 - 16/08/2019 12:31:00 2226369 Link 0 |
Couldn't agree more with that, serious error and compounded by moving u21 to u20, need to keep lads involved with the County as long as possible. Best of luck to them. Galwayspur (Offaly) - Posts: 183 - 16/08/2019 12:38:28 2226370 Link 1 |
totally agree the u18 and u21 was good.....go back to it and put our minor hurlers into Leinster....KK must have cherry picked the current arrangement where they can lose and learn and we have no safety. suckvalleypaddy (Galway) - Posts: 1406 - 16/08/2019 14:20:36 2226414 Link 1 |

Congrats to the Galway minor 3 in a row team. Like the senior game, we really streaked away in the second half and should have won by at least 17 or 18 points but the 16 wides didn't help in that regard. Some excellent hurlers who will hopefully make successful seniors in the coming years. I was also impressed with the management team who seemed to work very well together and were confident in the players that they picked to get the job done. Not many thought the football heartlands of Mountbellew-Moylough, Moycullen, Annaghdown and Ballygar would provide key players to this team but the Galway selectors thought otherwise and were proven to be correct - well done to all concerned. tommy k (Galway) - Posts: 2407 - 19/08/2019 09:36:04 2227362 Link 0 |
Really liked Brian Hanley's interview afterwards when he said there was never any pressure put on these lads from within the camp and that they just go out and hurl. Love that attitude. Also said that they only hurled at 70% which is a scary thought. Sean McDonagh is as good as we have had at this grade in a long time. galway19 (Galway) - Posts: 131 - 19/08/2019 10:30:24 2227389 Link 0 |
Certainly sad to think of all the 'seanmcdonaghleveltalents' that were left on the scrap heap wandering the streets of Ballygar & Mountbellew by successive underage regimes in Galway hurling. I wonder how they spotted Sean!!
