Wides are killing Clare. Waterford with a free now to go ahead

A very poor start and wides killed Clare. Very very disappointing.

Disappointing for Clare yesterday.
A terrible start saw them 7 points behind at one stage -and were actually lucky not to be further behind as Waterford had a few bad wides early on.

I know it's only early stages but I'd really have to question Clare's use of playing a 3rd midfielder/withdrawing a player further back (or whatever it's called now). It really shows a mentality of "trying not to lose" as opposed to "trying to win". You can argue that it frees up space inside for fast young forwards, but the inside line never looked capable of causing damage and it says it all when the starting inside line could only contribute 0-01 between them.

Davy used this tactic with Waterford and while it made them difficult to beat, it actually prevented them from beating the bigger teams at the business end of the championship. Dublin use a similiar enough tactic with same end result.

Any details on Aaron Cunninghams injury lads?
Looked pretty bad, broken collarbone or dislocated shoulder I'd say.

Big game against Galway this weekend and I hope for two things:

1. Davy has learned with his team selection and
2. The players fly out of the traps

This will be a very very difficult encounter but one we can win.

I would like to see the following team:

DOD McInerney McInerney

Bugs Donnellan S Morey

NOC Ryan

Conlon Kelly Galvin

O Donnell Honan Cathal Mc

I would also like to see Daire Keane on the panel but have my doubts as to whether that will happen.

Full time

Clare 0-18 Galway 1-13

Fantastic result against Galway. Delighted for the boys.

David McInerney was savage at full back for Clare. We need a full back so hopefully this young man can continue in this form. Fair play to Davy who took a lot of sick over the past few weeks

A big big game and test for Clare up next week.

Cork have 3 points from 2 games and will be ready for Clare. It is certainly a game we can win however.

Team i would go with is:

DOD McInerney Morey

Bugler Donnellan POC

NOC Conor Ryan

Conlon Kelly Ryan

O Donnell Honan Sean Collins

Let Sean Collins drop back into the half forward line. Conlon has to play in the center forward line for his ball winning ability.

Of concern is the lack of goal chances and this is due to the persistence to play a one man full forward line.

O Donnell dominated the beginning of the game against Galway but was double marked for the end of the first half and remainer of the second half. He is great one on one and is a serious goal poacher. He and Honan both only have one thing on their mind when the ball comes to them. A win on Saturday would be immense and is completely achievable. Given we have Tipp and KK after that, it is really a game we need to win.

brilliant result , curious to see if there will be places available for Honan , McGrath , Dillon , Cunningham and Colm Galvin once the Waterford game comes around

Another fantastic result! The second half performance was one of the best from a Clare team in a long long time!!

Colin Ryan seems to be rejuvenated this year and is the first name on the team sheet at the moment! Shane o donnell is showing very well! Hard to think he is only 18!

Tony Kelly seems to get about 4 points from play every day! He is a superstar in the making!

Great to see Honan back and be got a quality point!

All in all Clare are playing really well at the moment and won't fear anyone!!

Another win and we should be in the semis and if we get there who knows what could happen! Clare have a very bright future by all accounts
