Oh ye would and so would the whole country...it would be described as not a real all Ireland...a Galway woman on Newstalk even said so on radio today....I don't know why she brought us into the conversation...

But your right...it's like a year we would win it and wouldn't be able to be there to witness it in person or celebrate properly.

So misguided on 2 fronts. Genuinely Galway people would be delighted. But its not happening. This Covid year or any other one soon.

Not sure if you have seen the Galway team? Not exactly full strength. So what's your point here?

Replying To Mfs:  "I expect Galway to win this well on Sunday. Mayo trying out a lot of new players this year. Oisin mullin, Padraic O'hora, eoghan mcLoughlin, Jordan Flynn, Ryan O'Donoghue, Tommy Conroy, paul towey, mark moran and Darren mchale all only joined the panel this year. 4/5 of them lads will start on Sunday. James Carr, michael Plunkett, Matthew Ruane and Fionn Mcdonagh all joined last year and could all start.
Jason Doherty and James McCormack both our injured. Diarmuid OConnor and Brendan Harrison both injured and won't possibly play.
I think mayo are rebuilding but galway are contenders for all Ireland."
Mayo will always give a good account of themselves in big games - unfortunate for them and Kerry, that Dublin over the past 6 years have been so strong.

Galway at the moment are hit and miss - too many "big" players calf on the big occasions - lads afraid to take responsibility for penalties. This was never the case when we were strongly represented by players from Dunmore, Mountbellew, Tuam, Ballinasloe. So, while the fancy dans will show up in Roscommon/Sligo, they soon disappear in Dublin and also Limerick, when ye hammered us out the gate - game was over after 10 minutes.. Don't think 10 Jim McGuinnesses can do anything about that.

The same fancy dans showed up mountbellew the last day and it took a few fancy dans to win in 98 and 2001,

I don't think we should be looking for excuses in advance... the teams taking the pitch for both sides, as selected, are not recognisable as the 'best 15' either Galway or Mayo can potentially field, but the result matters to both sides for obviously different reasons so I'm expecting a good competitive game. At this point I don't think anyone in Mayo could name our best 15... the team is changing and a fair number of the older crew just won't make the cut this year, otherwise we're going nowhere in the longer term. Having seen the Rossies last night, the notion that this is a dress rehearsal for the Connacht final is completely wide of the mark.... Galway will be there (sorry Sligo lads), but we'll have our work cut out to make that date.

Good times for Galway... the U20s and a potential a league decider, both against the Dubs, are in prospect before the championship even starts!

Hopefully no injuries today and both panels to stay healthy... an AI win for the Connacht champions is a very realistic and achievable ambition assuming it doesn't get shut down.

Can only see it going one way today. 5 or 6 point victory for Mayo to keep them up.

Yes, both managers have their eye on November. It will be so strange if its tight at the finish and no supporters.

Mcdaid, brannigan, silke, seanandy, daly, heaney and burke all very poor. What hope do we have when they're all playing like this.

At 26 mins gone, this is an utter disgrace from Galway. Not fit. Not strong. Outmuscled. Out fetched. Beaten to every sprint. No hunger. Not seriously prepared. Massively disappointing. Of course, we pick the Mayo game to completely let ourselves down and be walked all over. Major questions about management's preparation of this team when I had thought the opposite.

PJ, Scan and co. - what exactly have you been doing? Division 3 prep. Truly embarrassing stuff to watch, over at half time
