Very funny portavogielad. You know you shouldn't joke like that as some of us non Ards folks take things literally.

Any teams news ahead of the Ulster 1/4 final in Newry. looking forward to it.

Up Down.

There are four counties involved in 3 matches on Sunday. So one cannot expect them to be in Ballycran. They are Ulster Championship games and Mc Kenna is not a recognised Ulster Venue.... even if we believe it should be. Forget the Ards or nowhere attitude (remember before all Ulster matches were ALL in Casement). BE there to welcome the Christy Ring Champions. You would have had to go to Casement anyway Portavogie Lad.

I'm just joking lads, of course I'll be in Newry this weekend to cheer on the 2013 CRC Champions.

Is Graham Clarke still on the panel?

Yes, Graham is the backup goalkeeper. A true legend and great servant to Down Hurling for almost 20 years. Glad he got some reward for all his hard work with getting his hands on the CRC.

Well done today lads. great result and well deserved. You could so easily have slipped up after the emotion of last weekend. GREAT to see such a crowd in Newry too and to see the cup displayed and so many children wanting to see it. All helps the future of Hurling in Down. Well done to all... players, Gerard and the rest of the management. Delighted for you all.

Also good to see more Down men get some recognition on the Hoganstand Hurling team of the week.

The last couple of weeks the HS team of the week has had a good few Down men. Conor Woods is having a great season so far. Does anyone know where I can find the Down Minor panel 2013?

Saulgael - Look for the match report of the MHC against Derry to see the squad for that day.

Athletic Grounds has been named as the venue for our semi final with Derry. Wonder why they didn't pick Casement?

It also makes it a double header with Armagh footballers.

Congratulations to Braniff, Johnson, Hughes and Woods on their Christy Ring all star award. Surprised Keith didn't get the goalkeeper award as he had a great year.

Nice to see the lads get recognized. I also thought Stephen Keith deserved the goalkeeper award. Any news of Monan bring in any new blood this year? Hopefully the senior players hang round for the near future, Braniff and Johnson etc.

correct me if i'm wrong but the ring 15 isn't selected the same way as all-ireland all star awards. Down will have 4 winners because they won the comp, kerry will get 3, right down to bottom teams who get 1. Also, there doesn't appear to be a structure, so there could be 10 forwards out of the 15 or 10 backs. On paper it's nice to award everyone, but it means lads from the top teams miss out, like stephen keith or danny toner.
