Replying To munsterchamps:  "the antics of the cork players was terrible to watch......rolling around the ground roaring....to me it was obvious it was something that was discussed by management.....gaa is a mans game hope that kind of stuff is cut out. the irony of it was funny tho conor boylan had a genuine penalty call over looked and got a yellow card for diving......not our best ever performance but still had too much for a speedy but limited cork team."
The Cork players going down was a result of Limerick players deliberately targetting up around the head or else it was Cork players diving trying to get Limerick men sent off-I would think the latter.
As for the game itself if either team had it's shooting boots on Limerick could have won by 10 points more or Cork could have won by 4/5. The Limerick 1-7 were very good, midfield ok, Lynch and Casey very good Hegarty and Flanagan average but Gillane and Morrissey poor. Corks main weapon is their pace but Limerick held their shape better in the 2nd half to run them up blind alleys to overturn them- I thought Corks subs was a case of replacing like for like players rather than putting in some with a presence around the square to shake things up but going forward Corks speed will trouble a lot of teams. Limerick will be looking for a big improvement in their forward for the Munster final.

Replying To Maroonatic:  "A big decision by James Madden to play. You've got to admire the lad.
Out of curiosity Barney , how did you come by the tickets, was it through some kind of lottery?"
Initially the tickets were for members of the panel and back room team and Dublin clubs. The clubs were given a ticketmaster link and it was first come first served from 3pm on Wednesday. As far as I know they went on general sale though by Friday.

I got them through the club. Club secretaries were sent the link to buy them by county board, Don't know how many each got, The club would not have huge number of members who regularly follow the hurlers so not much competition.

Where we were, there were people from other Dublin clubs, a few Wexford people, a couple from Galway and two Kilkenny lads who hurl club in Dublin. Very strange atmosphere, Tannoy was on every 7/8 minutes to tell people to wear masks. Like being in a North Korean paddy field!

Mind you, the nature of both games meant that there was plenty of noise during both games.

Fantastic game yesterday and I wouldn't bet against Kk reaching an all Ireland. Not sure how they won that game. Personally I thought all the standout performers were on the wexford side. But the collective is how kilkenny win games and it was sole show of character to come through that.
For me Mark Fanning gave one of the great goalkeeping displays I have seen. How under rated is he. I've never seen a keeper have such an influence on a game before. Special mention also to Simon Donoghue who I thought was excellent. On a side note I would love to get more clarity on the hawk eye decisions such as the one at full time or at least see some slow motion coverage of it.
While I was lucky enough to see that game I thought Skys coverage is desperate compared to RTE.

Have yet to see the other game back but how wrong was I when I predicted Galway would hit in the region of 2-30. I'm surprised they have persisted with Burke at 6. I've seen nothing to suggest that he can impact a game from there. Galway's weakness is their keeper and backs with possibly only 1 or 2 being good enough to get into limericks team. Not having that platform maybe their downfall.
Having said that from a Tipp perspective I'm really hoping more than ever that we can go the front door route.
Galway will be hoping to avoid the likes of Waterford who have a very good record against them.

Great evening in Croke Park. 8 thousand people felt like 30 thousand at times.
I wouldn't have seen Dublin being within 10 points of Galway, but how wrong was I! Great for the scattering of Dublin hurling supporters there, there was a few around us and they were delighted.

Ourselves and Kilkenny, well it could have gone either way but Kilkenny had the squad we didn't. The lack of squad depth has now cost us a shot at an All-Ireland and a Leinster title and Davy has had long enough to rectify this.

Incredible! It's an amateur game but referee decisions are sometimes absolutely off the wall. Came at a crucial time in the game. Otherwise, very good game and Tipp vs limerick is one to look forward to!

An even bigger joke was Clare not getting one near the end. Tipp came out of a lucky bag.

It's a bit of a grey area alright, there was a chance of a goal but the fouled player would not be the one to score it, he would have had to draw a man!

Wow. The game of hurling is ruined if that is a penalty.

Tipperary were given some lifeline by the referee today. I felt we were the better team bar that 10 minute period when they ref sin binned McCarthy and gave them a penalty. I think Tipp had a 7 point swing in that time.

Then with 5 minutes to go at the other end, Mark Rogers is man handled in the box- no penalty.

Disgraceful decisions against clare today.

Have to agree and I'm delighted another county at the wrong end of me Owens whistle..Gaa must now come out and explain the sin bin and penalty situation..if that was a penalty and a clear goal scoring opportunity then god help us..Barrett on a yellow, blatant foul again on Kelly, surely another yellow..I know Kelly swung back..blatant foul on shanaher which was a penalty and referee bottled it again..I will say the berltter team won..the Sunday game tonight has 3 sin bins to discuss,Murphy with the cats,Casey with limerick and now today..game is after being destroyed..

Love the way you seem to think a manager can pull good senior intercounty players out of his hat!

Yes said it at the time. Cynical fouling that stops a goal chance needed to be addressed but double penalizing was always wrong. In this instance there was no goal chance the same as yesterday. So a free and no penalty. Can they do anything close to correct. If a player is fouled and no defender inside a penalty. That is sufficient punishment. We have pulling and dragging, throwing the ball and simulation ignored most of the time. It is probably best if these clowns leave the rules alone and just maybe enforce the existing ones. Disappointed for Owens as he is the best ref.

A bit of a grey area? The rule is if you deny a clear goal scoring opportunity. How is goods name was that a clear goal scoring opportunity? Shocking call by the ref. I'm very sore after that.

If you take the decision against McCarthy and the non penalty for Rogers, these clear errors by the ref have cost clare the game today. I'd be embarrassed to have won that game today if those decisions went in our favour.
