Wexford in away are like Waterford were last year with the expectation not too great. They always have the heart and drive. If they get a few things right and get on a roll will shake this championship up. Also no matter what people think of Davy, he is one of the best coaches.

Never any great expectations up this way Canuck! But always hope and massive public interest if the hurlers even look like they might win a game or 2. Even in the early 90s I suppose we had a good team and we thought we'd win a Leinster but to win the All Ireland in 96 exceeded any supporters realistic expectations. Though probably not the managers or teams. Since the turn of the millennium while wed hope wed beat Kilkenny noone really expected it, although these days since Davy took over we probably dont fear Kilkenny any more. While I dont think most of us supporters expect us to win against them every time we don't expect to lose either any more. But then theres Galway in it now, who have a great team at the moment who have probably under achieved. When they won Leinster in 2017 and 2018 it looked like they were going to dominate for a while but strangely they haven't won it since. While I tipped a Wexford Galway final, I know theres the potential banana skin in the form of a full strength Laois that we havent seen yet this year, hopefully followed by a game against the Cats that I think could go either way on the day. I actually expect Waterford to be closer to winning a provincial title than us, even though youd have to beat Clare, Tipp and Cork or Limerick to do it.

I'm going to predict :
1. Tipp Limerick Muster Final, Limerick to win
2. Galway Kilkenny Leinster Final, Galway to win.

I think the AI final will be Limerick and Galway, with Limerick winning it. Only other team I can see even making the final are Tipp.

I'll just make one point re Galway and the Leinster hurling championship. There was huge hostility to Galway's participation in the LHC from certain Leinster counties, if not most of them, although they all had been hammered by KK year after year. Galway's inclusion in the Leinster championship changed the dynamic and both Dublin and Wexford won Leinster titles by defeating Galway! Ironic!

I would also go with a Kilkenny v Galway Leinster Final with Galway winning, and Waterford v Limerick in the Munster Final with Limerick winning. Still hard to see anyone bar Limerick winning it overall, on their day I think Galway could win it, but they are just too inconsistent, not to mention their horrendous record in All Ireland finals is always going to go against them.

Wexford did not win a Leinster title by defeating Galway.
Galway also did not change the dynamic, a great Kilkenny team came to an end.

True, you beat KK in the final, but it was Galway who broke the logjam in 2012.

Tbh the Kilkenny team of the late noughties hammered just about everyone not just the Leinster counties. We went backwards, especially as regards fitness and strength and conditioning, as the decade went on. Same as Offaly. While none of the Leinster counties welcomed Galway in, probably as much for reasons of tradition, history and geography as anything else, their inclusion has definitely made the Leinster championship better.

A Pat Horgan rubbish article about the sliotar in the paper. These journalist must go looking to create a controversy to have something to write. I am sure Pat is an intelligent guy but to state that the ball has not changes in 100 years is just incorrect. That is if he ever said that ? Does he want to go back and play with the hurley used 100 years ago. Don't change any thing only the things I want changed or some nonsense just so I can use it in an article. It is probably not the player. The journalists probing a subject and the player stupid enough to get reeled in.

Paper wont refuse ink Canuck. And sadly news has to be sensational and preferably bad before people are interested in it. Every year some controversy has to be stirred about something. Horgan, Chin and Canning had to talk to the media in the last week as the various sponsors associated with the hurling championship and other competitions were promoting it. And themselves. They weren't interested in team news or anecdotal player stories. Just the usual controversies that they hope will sell papers or online subscriptions

I agree that Limerick are the most likely winners of this year's All Ireland with Galway having the next best chance. If it happens that the 2 teams meet in the All Ireland final and Limerick win it, Galway's " horrendous record in All Ireland finals" will have nothing to do with the result. Favorites usually beat the underdogs. I would hope and expect that whatever psychologist Galway have in their backroom team would have long ago dispelled this nonsense belief that " Galway's horrendous record in All Ireland finals is always going to go against them" That is total BS.
I have no idea where you have got this notion about Galway being "too inconsistent". The only game of note they've lost so far this year is vs Tipp and that was a very predictable result (in fact I fully expected it) Going back to 2017 we have lost just 2 major games where we were expected to win I.e. the 2018 All Ireland final and the 2020 Leinster Final. I will throw in a third game if you like ....the Leinster round robin game vs Dublin which knocked us out of the 2019 championship. But that game took place in Parnell Park which is a graveyard for most visiting teams who play the Dubs there. Galway have actually been one of the most consistent teams in hurling over the past 5 or 6 years, only once failing to reach the latter stages of the championship during that period.

You take a wholly hypothetical scenario, and then go on to postulate about this year's All-Ireland final between Limerick and Galway. Your arrogance is then followed by a strong rebuttal of the inadequacies of Galway over the last 5 or so years.

I think this might be Galway's deepest team in a long time and it'll be interesting to see who the starters are. I'd agree that Limerick should be the favorites to win it all but Waterford, Tipp, KK, etc should not be forgotten about.

I think if Galway had Kilkennys mental toughness theydve won 3 or 4 all Irelands in the last 10 years with the hurlers they have. I think Kielys influence, and the lady who used I think to work with the Galway hurlers in 2017, have given Limerick that mental edge. Not a coincidence that the only team who have stopped Limerick going into this years championship going for 4 in a row were Kilkenny in 2019. If Galway play Limerick this year I can only see a Limerick victory. Abd Poolsturgeon can say what he likes about Galways record in big games being BS but facts are facts. With their playing population over the last 100 years, and some of the outstanding hurlers they have had over history they should definitely have won more all Irelands than they have.

I actually think this is the most open championship in a long time, I can't see Limerick having it all our own way again this year and our biggest weakness is getting goals and I think other teams will look to exploit that.

Galway looked the best form team after the league and that Evan Niland is looking a serious player for team. Tipperary are too quiet for my liking and are reminding me of 2019 after a mediocre league they tipped away at championship in Munster and had a big performance in the all-Ireland and won. I still rate Cork they are lacking a bit in the full back line but are strong everywhere else, they are giving young lads a chance too but I think dropping Conor Lehane and Aidan Walsh was a mistake by the management team they could have being 2 great options off the bench at least. Waterford are continuing their progress under Cahill and will be there abouts Iarlaith Daly is doing a good job filling in for Tadhg de Burca, Conor Prunty is the best full back in the country in my opinion but they need Austin Gleeson to be more consistent he is a guy with the xfactor who can be the difference in winning a game for his team. Kilkenny you can never write off Kilkenny, they are sometimes unfairly compared to the Kilkenny of the 00s and the early 10's, they are not as good now but I feel they still have the hurlers capable of winning an all-Ireland.

Clare I'm sorry to say will only do what Tony Kelly can do for them, the messing off the field at board level won't help them either. Wexford I think Davy has come to the end of his timeline with them, Davy can take a teams performance levels up a couple levels at the start of his tenure but the same with LIT, Waterford and Clare it doesn't last forever and I feel he taken Wexford as far as he can. Dublin are not a bad team but I can't see them doing much this year and I can see Antrim getting 1 big result result in this year's championship.
