Old Mcdonald asked who was the best 30 players over the last 3 years and thats what the selections are based on, not the availability, this is in an ideal world not a realistic one!

Exactly. The question is simply who do you think were the best 30 players you saw over the last 3 years. Forget about everything else.

Next Sunday's match is a dead duck match. Will Rainbow use it to start nailing down his championship 15

I think most of the guys who havent seen any, or little game time should get a start against Waterford. At the same time though, prob be the same team!

I assume Brendan Murphy is suspended for Sunday but other than that I'd be surprised if there are many changes.

Personally I think Rainbow will put out his best possible team to win this one, like I said in a previous post, should Waterford beat Carlow decisively which is a possibility then Rainbow will draft his resignation and sign it off as soon as we exit the Leinster senior football championship. I hope not.
Should Brendan Murphy not be playing then I can see the other lads having to raise their game a lot, if they do we should win this with a bit to spare.

I presume he will send out what he believes to be his strongest team to end the league on a bit of a high. He has less players to choose from as I think 3 lads have left the panel after the Clare game - albeit 3 subs.

1944 - I think it was Shane Murphy (clonmore) Kevin Byrne (Rathvilly) and Alan Callinan (Eire Og)?

Supersub - I hadnt heard of anyone else except i think Willie Minchin wont be available for championship as he is getting married? Shame the lads are leaving but i suppose they are frustrated and know they can play with their clubs now the league is starting back.

Disappointed to hear Skippy is gone from the panel. I thought he was injured throughout the league and that's the reason he didn't get a run.

Does anyone have any interest in Carlow's final game in the nfl, is things as bad as they seem to be, and with morale not at an apparent all time low can they lift their game and come away from DCP with a win and a bit of credibility, - - - or does it really matter any more.

Know how you feel but we can't give up! Carlow will be there after us and the likelyhood is we may never win silverware.

gave up going after the limerick game, 30 years of following, have seen enough, it's a shame there was real potential in this panel but alas they were poorly served by county board and successive managers

Do you know Barrowsider I feel the same way my self, not alone that but I think we are back to the time leading up to the Andy Shortall "day's". There's too many reasons why Carlow d football is a failure, I went to Portlaoise wed. night to see Kildare and Longford, and do you know, Longford may have been beaten, but they have won a lot of admiration and due respect from most other counties, for a county the same size as Carlow with a much smaller population, they went from div4 to div2 in successive years, with a successful minor side and an u-21 team that reached a leinster final, then to cap it all you had Mc Geeney on the HS home page thanking the under age coaches for making it all possible for Kildare's success at u-21 level, what are we doing wrong or are we doing anything at all.
I know we can blame A,B,C, and D, and rightly so, but the players have to take their share of the blame as well.
I agree with Rainbow when he said you can only tell the players, what to do and how to do it, but at the end of the day it's only they can implement it or make it happen.

PS - It would be nice to see them finish with a win, Carlow I mean.

Was at all games up to now but that Clare game was it for me. Going to avoid the Waterford game, and it'll prob be 1st home game I've missed in 10 years. But maybe if there's an empty stand it might stir things up a bit.

Still no sign of a team picked for Sunday. In fairness Waterford can't be relishing this game either, they're league has fizzled out as disappointingly as ours. Ironically the two wins they had at the start of the league were against the two teams that may well be the two promoted - Tipp and Clare. Since then they have lost every game.

Are we supporters unrealistic? The Irish soccer supporter clamours for a new manager on an almost annual basis. They have got them but the results are the same. We have had a lot of managers too but there has not been any progress. Dont tell me about a Leinster S/F after a surprise win over Louth... they will happen every so often.
We are a basement team and we should just get on with it. I'll be at the game tomorrow looking for something to give me hope for Westmeath in the Championship....
