To be fair I think most of the booing was as a result of the time being wasted taking the frees. Honestly, it's happening in all the games now in both codes..

I was at the Hurling Final last year and the Free takers were taking every bit as long to take their shots, as indeed most free takers do now and there was practically none of it .It was very pronounced yesterday and could be heard all over the Stadium. It is the kind of behavior I would neverhave associated with Cork Supporters and it should not be sanitised Oldtourman (Limerick) - Posts: 4467 - 15/07/2024 09:45:22 2559205 Link 0 |
I will by saving that in 22 Munster Final I was in the old Stand in Thurles and the booing and Horn, even by of Young Children of Clare Supporters was unreal anytime Diarmuid Byrnes went to take a free. However it was much less noticeable in the last two Finals. Having said all I find the vast majority of both Clare and Cork decent and good Sports people.

There has been booing at every game I have seen this year - including the Minor finals..... People having a pop at the Dubs previously or any other county now for that matter - take a closer look at home. Happening in club games also. Not nice - but unfortunately part and parcel now, regrettably. Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 3975 - 15/07/2024 09:54:47 2559209 Link 0 |
Apologies LRH, you are correct. What's the mood like in the Banner county? Like ourselves, ye must be feeling this is a good opportunity?

Cork supporters back through the years were always renowned for their class, and their sportsmanship, and in fairness any of them I met in Croke Park last Sunday were just that. I did however hear the booing There is a certain type of follower (note I'm not calling them supporters) out there now, that are fuelled by Tik Tok video's Instagram and Facebook posts by radical keyboard warriors promoting hate for other counties and the new generation of followers think this is the way to behave. Every county has them unfortunately. LimerickandProud (Limerick) - Posts: 94 - 15/07/2024 10:09:07 2559216 Link 0 |
Any team news/rumours? I presume there are no new injuries and both counties are picking from a full deck?

Its terrible behaviour really and should not at any time be condoned i hate those bloody horns as well hugely annoying to be sitting beside them should be banned altogether. I imagine this booing is coming from younger patrons no doubt with a bit of drink

Corkman here; I am a bit nervous about this. Clare have been our bogey team this year and last year; they have beaten us the last three times they played us in league and championship. madfeen (Cork) - Posts: 11 - 15/07/2024 13:41:39 2559282 Link 0 |
Cork are favourites I imagine they are improving every game since Pat Ryan took the knife to the first 15 serious pace in team half forwards are serious ball winners and inside line lethal. I am hugely nervous we could take a trashing Cork will try to take JC on down the middle unless Clare play at 100% no chance TK simply has to have a TK kind of game Hoping for a great final clooney (Clare) - Posts: 960 - 15/07/2024 14:20:31 2559294 Link 0 |
Sorry 2006, 2013 and 2021 were the other finals we lost.

Oldtourman I have said this before. It is up to the genuine supporters to let these idiots know this is not acceptable. I have done it and others also. Admiration of the skills of our own and opposition players have been the hallmark our games. The ones who engage in this behaviour are fly by night supporters probably. Band wagon jumpers.

No chance of us trashing ye anyway. Ye will put up a big score against us, most teams have so far this year. That doesn't mean ye will win of course, we can score plenty ourselves. But I reckon ye will do a number on us and Hoggie will have to retire without his Celtic Cross.

There will be no thrashing and you know that well! There'll be nothing in it only a puck of a ball. We have a lot of homework to do after our last encounter as we were destroyed on the puck-outs. It's also critical we mind the nets. Obviously, keeping SO'D to the minimum is a must, but like all these finals, they always throw up a bolter.. Interesting to see who that may be...

Hoping this one lives up to all expectations.if the cork team that played limerick play the same way again then they will be very hard to beat.however I'm expecting a huge game from tk which could swing the game Clare's way..David Fitz hasn't been at his very best in last 2 games and he's another who can change any game.I'll be interested to see if cork try and get a huge return against Clare half back line in this one??clare have 2 very good corner backs who are quicker than limericks so they could limit the damage of Connolly and hayes.a big one for cork will be,can fitzgibbon do the same damage, does Malone man mark or is it a job for Taylor..cork then have the job of keeping o Donnell quite, huge for whoever gets it.I honestly find it hard to call but I'll tip Clare by at most 3 or 4 points..good to be able to sit back and enjoy this one for a change after past few years..I forgot to mention the 2 keepers and it might boil down to which one of them doesn't make a mistake. I think it's now or never for Clare. The likes of Tony Kelly, Conlon, Cathal Malone, Shane O'Donnell (even though he still seems in his prime) ,David mcinerney & Peter Duggan have been around since they last won it in 2013. But this cork team could be around for the next 3/4 years… Miami305 (Galway) - Posts: 155 - 16/07/2024 10:18:49 2559442 Link 0 |

The very best of luck to both Cork and Clare on Sunday. On one hand, I'd like to see Clare prevail; sure, they're only going for their fifth in total in 140 years give or take, (Didn't Limk recently do just that in a mere 6 years or was I just dreaming?). foreveryoung (USA) - Posts: 2095 - 17/07/2024 17:08:22 2559781 Link 0 |
I'd rather someone won on the day tbh. I'll be there Sunday!
