Clare V Cork - All Ireland Hurling Final 2024

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Probably the game nobody expected but here we are. Cork rightly favorites after beating the best team I have seen in my lifetime. They will be hard to stop but I feel we can do it!!

Should be epic.

Both teams played well to get to the Final. I'm hoping for a Clare victory.

I'm for Clare. Cork were great today but this Clare team have been to battle more often. The only thing makes me nervous is yere fullback line. Especially the full back position. Clare will need to defend by committee. Cork will try to isolate one on one with individual battles. I think that is obvious after today.

Best 2 teams in the final. May the best team win. Repeat of 2013, and hopefully Cork will reverse that result!

No preference, but Cork to win. Much more exciting and skillful team in full flight, in my humble opinion. And with a bit of steel to match now.

I certainly don't want a draw first day out as I am in Tenerife the following week

Why do we need to know that?

It'll come down to which team defends better. Both teams have tremendous attacking players. If cork hit 70% of their shots like yesterday I think they'll win but often huge semi final victories are not replicated in a final. For me it's 50/50 but how things transpired this year I just get the feeling corks name is on the cup.

I genuinely wish both teams the best in the final and both sets of supporters to enjoy the day. Hurling needs a new winner when you look at it objectively and im expecting a great final.

Cork massive strong favourites. Could they win the next 5?

I expected it. And don't Betfair know about it haha. Thankgod above it's not Limerick vs Kilkenny for rhr 3rd year running. It would have been so unappealing

I would have thought you would have given up by now after you have shamed yourself and your tipping consistently. But keep it going now and keep tipping against Clare.

I think the bookies will put cork as favourites however Clare have won the last two encounters

Good to see the league narrative being turned on its head somewhat the last 2 years.

Both National Hurling League winners the last 2 years have got to the All Ireland final. I was one of those that felt putting your eggs into the league basket would bite you later. However I am not sure Clare went all out to win it this year either. I think we kinda limped through the group with lots of injuries. We are lucky now that those injured players are getting right at the right time. McInerney was off the pace the last few games but was super Saturday. Kelly was quiet enough but popped up with 3 points from midfield and a clutch point to put us ahead. Taylor was a real game changer when he came on.

Hard to know if Ryan will start the next day. Part of me thinks we need his pace v Cork but I also like his as an option off the bench. If he does start, it will likely be Malone or Fitz he comes in for.
