County man is a strange poster on the Wexford forum. Rathnure demise has had a massive impact on Paul. ExiledInWex (Dublin) - Posts: 1259 - 24/07/2024 14:41:41 2561244 Link 0 |

We also had a great year, Limerick are still on a high (6 munster titles in a row) despite the begrudgery from every other county and like yourselves, we are also looking forward to the future, we are not going anywhere fast. Next year can't come quickly enough And your correct, you do have an impressive 30 All Irelands and this can give you great comfort over the winter same as it has every year winter for the last 20 years. It was what was said about Wexfords 2nd AI win in 1955 Exiled. He's a born and bred hurling man who is very aware of our history.

"[T]his can give you great comfort over the winter same as it has every year winter for the last 20 years." I hope that nobody on here confuses 'comfort' with 'complacency'. 2O YEARS is a gigantic number for the biggest county, area wise, with the most hurling clubs to go with an AI senior title. Don't fret Cork lads, you have a good team now. It's only a matter of time. Shure, it nearly happened Kilkenny, who went from 1887 to 1904 without a title. And Tipperary, who went from 1971 to 1989 without winning Liam. Outside of the BIG 3, all the rest are all lesser mortals. foreveryoung (USA) - Posts: 2095 - 24/07/2024 17:08:33 2561293 Link 0 |
Well in Fairness Ryan no Munster team has ever equalled the record of this Limerick team over a seven year period. The Cork four in a row team does not compare as they could not even win four Munsters in a row much less six and no Tipp won a four in a row even in Munster, much less outside it. To do this with a team with the Sixth Hurling Population in Ireland and about one Fifth your Hurling Population has been an achievement we can be quietly proud of.

It's a round about compliment in a way though. The Cork mans measure of a successful season isn't winning a league, let alone Munster, not to even think about an All Ireland. It's beating Limerick. Twice no less. skillet (Limerick) - Posts: 1103 - 24/07/2024 18:31:11 2561317 Link 0 |

Good Point. Some of them around us in Croke Park last Sunday thought the game was over after twelve minutes because they went eight points up and they accuse us of bragging. At least in the last six years we had something to brag about. You couldn't make it up.

The hurling Final got a mention in the British House of Commons today. Deservedly so. Also mention of the football final with good wishes to Armagh. Sarah Mulkerrins presents well on BBC. A Galway woman I think. endgame (Roscommon) - Posts: 2300 - 24/07/2024 21:09:03 2561339 Link 0 |
