Replying To countyman2022:  "Clare after winning an All Ireland in 2013 after not beating the great Kk team nor Tipp team and 2024 without beating a Limerick team which beat them twice in the championship and in numerous finals the last 3 years. Pity will always be a tainted All Ireland. Hopefully they get the opportunity to do so next year."
Bad form, comments like this one. As I said in another post, many of the Wexford lads on here are taking this AIF loss worse than what Cork are taking it. Imagine if they Wexford was even able to get to an AIF...imagine...

What this thing about down to earth. Limerick Supporters are always down to earth. We are quietly proud of our splendid teams great achievements that is all. BTW, what has this Cork won yet.

Replying To Buachaillbui:  "Unbelievable victory. One to saviour. Lots of bad days (usually at the hands of Cork or Limerick) and quiet walks home from thurles, make these victorious days all the sweeter. Our record in Munster finals against both teams is shocking. My father died wanting to see us beat Cork in a munster final and I'm still waiting. I guess these 2 All-irelands will have to do ;-)

Even though we won out in extra time I believe there should have been a replay. Was it a free at the end? Yes. Not given though and we got away with it. Cork played very well and you'll have better days."
2 all Ireland's will do certainly. I remember those 2 Munster finals in 1977, 1978 attended both of them, and they were closely contested affairs. Hurling is in a strong place, we will visit you in next year in Ennis, and renew our great rivalry!

Nice attempt at sarcasm.

Have a lovely evening. I am off to Ballyea to touch the Liam McCarthy cup. I hope you get to experience it some day, it's magical

Second only to the self proclaimed "best fans in the world" thinking they had the All-Ireland won after beating Limerick only for Clare to put them back in their box.

Jesus if Waterford could win the All Ireland in 2025 then all the Munster hurling counties would have won an All-Ireland since Cork last won one.

Replying To Crashingwaves:  "Who is going to beat them? Can't see Galway beating them any time soon. The years have caught up with a good few of the Galway lads and some of your own top players are getting on in years too. Dublin's record against them is poor."
The players we have who are over 30 right now are Fanning 33, Chin 31, O'Keefe 32 , Mcgovern 33 and O'Hanlon 32. That's all. No reason we can't beat them next year, obviouslydepending on form and injuries. They wouldn't have made the Leinster Final this year if Gordon hadn't increased the size of the penalty area by a yard or 2.

Absolutely correct.
Congratulations to Clare and commiserations to Cork on a fantastic All Ireland Final two excellent teams who gave it everything and not a single "dirty" stroke pulled.
Two teams who entertained us from start to finish without any big "sugar daddy investment "!

Doesn't matter as we had a great year. Cork hurling is on a high and we'll look forward to the future. Stopped your drive for 5 and beat Limerick twice. The greatest team in history ha ha. You'll probably go down definitely as the greatest braggarts in history! We always have our 30 all Ireland's and remember that you lot were in the wilderness between 1973 and 2018.

Why ask a question when you already know the answer? After all Limerick has won in recent years this is your sporting response to Cork's two wins over ye this year! Begrudgery!

1973-2018=45 years!
Cork have a fair few years to go yet but I very much doubt they'll be kept waiting that long.

No I wouldn't. I will be horrified if we don't win a Leinster in that time.

I don't ever expect to have to wait 14 years again.

Brilliant final, congrats Clare. Watched it again last night, a draw would have been the best outcome but Clare won fair and square and It's great to see the cup moving around the country.

Since 2004 there have only been 5 different winners of the AI Football Championship. This year will make that 6. So the Football will finally be as competitive as the Hurling then.

A few thoughts as a hurling supporter rather than commenting directly on the game details.
As a limerickman and neutral in this one, firstly Congrats to all the clare people on winning their 5th all ireland ,was hoping it would be us winning a different kind of 5 but that's sport and Clare are worthy winners this year. Both cork and clare players contributed to a great game for sure .
To the cork people who were on a high and beating us in the sf I'm sure it's a huge disappointment but they should take a lot of encouragement from the heart shown by their team this year.
As supporters it's natural to get excited and sometimes go over the top even with expectation etc but you wouldn't be a supporter otherwise ,the wins are great and the losses hurt but isn't that the essence of sport.
I've been going to limerick games over 50 years and manys the day we left grounds deflated but looking forward to another day out.
The last 7 years we've had the best days of our lives as supporters and I'm sure this win for clare will lift the spirits in clare like has happened in limerick for the last few years .
Looking forward already to next year with cork and clare coming to the garlic grounds .
