Replying To Viking66:  "He'd be a big loss to them"
Bob whitty gone for season too. This will seriously impact them. Any 6 teams could win intermediate imo.

Senior just as competitive

Replying To Pikeman96:  "It's only for the first round that times, venues and exact dates have been announced so far - main reason being that for so long as our footballers were still in the Tailteann Cup, it wasn't known for sure exactly when these matches would take place.

Would expect to see fixtures for Rounds 2 and 3 next week.

You can be sure though that there'll be a full round of fixtures played each weekend until the championship is complete. Also, each club already knows the order in which their group matches will come, since it's related to the order in which the names came out at the draw a few months ago. But I don't think that sort of full "master" list is actually published anywhere."
Thanks Pikeman + Viking, much appreciated.

That would be another big loss if true.

Little over a week to go now! Does anyone know where I can find the venues or are they not published yet? Also is there a club season ticket available?

Holidays perhaps but from what I hear they should not be considered in the category of "travelling" any more. Hear Paudi is home only for the hurling championship and gone back to Aus straight after.
Anyone who goes abroad there is always a chance, even if it doesn't start out that way, it becomes permanent.

The fixtures with venues, times, etc., have all been on the website for the past few days - https://wexfordgaa.ie/fixtures/

Only thing is, some of them still say TBC for venue - looks like they're seeking a venue for double-headers on the Saturday evening and the Sunday afternoon. And unfortunately for yourself, Taghmon-Camross v HWH Bunclody is one of the fixtures involved.

It's definitely fixed for 3.45 p.m. on the Sunday - just not clear yet where it'll actually be!

Do you lads like double headers?
Me, I don't tend to stay around for 2 matches.
If my club play in second match, I might go in for last 10 minutes, or might not. If playing in the first match, I hardly ever stay around unless it is a likely hum dinger after it. Unless of course club playing in both.

That's all the info I could find too Pikeman. And Bunclody didn't enter the League so I know very little about them this year either. It will be a real magical mystery tour!

I'd usually stay or go early to see the,1st game unless I had something really urgent to do. Which isn't very often.

I'd nearly always go to both, if I don't it's either because I need to be somewhere else at a certain time or if I'd only have a small interest in 1 of the games and a good game on TV is clashing with it.

Personally, I'd generally watch both.

Might sometimes miss a few minutes at the start of the first one if my club is in the second one, or if mine is in the first one, I might sometimes leave the second one early if it's particularly one-sided. But generally speaking, I'd be going to a double-header with the intention of watching all of both matches.

But each to their own. I'd also go to all sorts of club matches as a complete neutral during the year, and I know many others who do the same. And I also know many who'd only ever go to watch their own club. Nothing wrong with either way....each to their own.

I guess as I get older and kids grow up I will get more time on my hands to spend at matches although I might take up golf then. At the moment my 2nd job its a taxi driver.
I would also say I don't have enough interest to stay see 2 clubs where I know nobody playing. If one of the local clubs playing and I know people I might stay on for a bit.

Was talking to somebody from Bunclody last night, who told me that when they inquired as to why there was no venue fixed for that one yet, they were told that the fixtures people are waiting to see if St. Patrick's Park will be available.

Don't know if the doubt is connected to the works that were taking place there recently, or to the ongoing situtation with local residents and The Showgrounds over parking and traffic flow. Anyway, looks like St. Patrick's Park is the intended venue, but it might have to go somewhere else.

For what it's worth, when I asked him how they're shaping up for the hurling, he said "not great" and proceeded to list off a litany of stuff that's gone wrong. But he's the sort of fella who'd always be cagey and who would never say "going good" anyway!

We have been going poorly too. Plenty of important lads injured. We got a bad beating off Askamore in the League semi final. Hard to know how we will go. First 2 games will tell alot. Is that cagey enough?!

The martins should be favourites this year with the strength in depth they have. Nailing Eanna will not be too far away either and I think the Harriers could have a brilliant year if they get things right. I personally think many are not thinking about Oulart-the-Ballaghs return to senior hurling in Wexford. One of the most successful clubs in Wexford in modern history and will feel they have a point to prove after being harshly relegated and also having had the book thrown at them in Parnell park. On the intermediate side of things I think Fethard will come straight back up but could also see Taghmon having another good go at it this year.

St Anne's V martins- Could be closer than what people think but Martins by 3
Naomi Eanna V oilgate - Gorey to have too much although do expect Oilgate to be in mix for quarter finals
Glynn v Harriers- Hard to call with both teams missing players but I think Harriers should win by 5+ with Chin to the fore. Rowan white huge loss to Glynn.
Rathnure v Rapps- Think Rathnure will win this one by 2
Oulart v Crossabeg- big two points on offer and a lot will depend on the availability of Paudie Foley. Think Oulart might just sneak it
