They are very weak at u8s, I hope this changes as otherwise their future health wouldn't be great.

Production is being kind. Imagine reviewing games and you weren't at one of them! The inaccuracies are unreal.

Baffles me. The senior production is excellent. And fair, they don't hide away from anything.

Of the clubs you have mentioned, I vaguely remember Shamrocks and Monageer as senior teams, and Duffrey Rovers but I remember them more for their football prowess. Marshalstown were always intermediate in my memory, Mitch Jordan and the Kinsellas did they get to senior for a couple of years? I'm trying to remember. Davidstown medicore intermediate/junior team in my memory. I will say one thing about Davidstown, they have rebuilt their club house and pitches to an amazing standard, well done to all concerned. It's a numbers game really in terms of how strong clubs can be. The system in Wexford now allows clubs to find their standard and then maintaining it is the key. hurlorhurley (Wexford) - Posts: 1660 - 18/07/2023 14:49:56 2495422 Link 0 |

They tend to lose players to clubs around them do they? Think a few Rapps lads in Davidstown, Jack Kelly being one. And the Kehoes in Cloughbawn are Davidstown too I've heard before. Its a pity but they seem to be coming again.

I don't think its transfers but what might happen is the parents could originally be from Enniscorthy, sent their children to school in St Aidans and then we they take up GAA they join the Rapps as all their schoolmates are going there too.

Duffy Rovers in football is before my time they did do 7-8 in a row or something didn't they? I have a vague recollection of Marshalstown being senior for a year or two in the mid noughties when I moved, and I could a swore Davidstown were a decent intermediate team. I think the point made about football clubs upping the ante in hurling pushing some of these clubs down the order could be the reason. I know its not a link but a decent clubhouse and facilities gives people a club to be proud of and want to drive standards in. I haven't been to Davidstown in a few years though since before their fire and did not think they had much going on then, but good to hear they turning that tide. Was up at Shamrocks last night they had some very good u12s playing. The new floodlights are the job also though obviously we didn't need them this time of year. The soccer club next door have a new large astro that they have access to for training also. Fair play to them they are putting in the time and work. It wasnt a fire it was wind damage from one of the code red events in recent years, roof blown off the whole place. Its an incredible transformation, I would recommend next time you are in Wexford to pay a visit.

Rathnure didn't have AJ Redmond either as he got injured in the senior game last Sunday, Harriers will have Richie Lawlor back barring injury for the remainder of it, I think about half of the Alley team are starting for their seniors.

Sure the Alley won the U19s easy enough last year so no surprise there. Paull (Wexford) - Posts: 296 - 20/07/2023 17:32:47 2495866 Link 0 |
