Your the one who needs to take a chill pill … just giving an opinion and if you don't like it tough…

As I said in earlier post that's a compliment surly.

Would I be right in saying that Cavan are only one of 3 Teams with a 100% record. (Derry and Galway being the others), and are the only team from all 32 counties not to score a goal so far in the league this year?

Yep, correct. we're one of those 3 with 100% records, and only one with no goals. Very strange alright.

Not that strange when you consider our struggle to score goals for the last 10 years…. As for the 100% win record remember we are playing below average teams in Division 4…. Winning all 3 games so far is not too strange…. Getting and scoring a penalty in all 7 league games was strange…. Do you remember that one…?

Never said winning 3 from 3 was strange, just the goals which I've already mentioned. And as for the record so far, go back and read over the numbers I looked at between Cavan and Derry. We're right on course here, but would hope that we start to motor in better weather. Sunday in Sligo is looking dry and mild. Maybe we might start to kick on then

Comparing what Derry did a few years ago and Cavans current league campaign means nothing as opposition and players may be totally different now… As you rightly say a dry calm day on Sunday should suit us but I have been to Sligo a few times and as I can remember our record isn't great there… I have a feeling we will break our goal scoring duck here and it might just be enough to get the job done…

Of course it means nothing. I was just looking at the data and numbers, and just said it was interesting. Twas yourself who said we need to go 7 from 7, and all I was doing is comparing to the only other 7 from 7 season. It's interesting how they compare is all, and how similar we are. Feel free to ignore it. Indeed, and hopefully so. we might finally see where we are on Sunday. A calm day, and likely a full strength team as Graham will be targeting this game. I think we may break our duck too, and hopefully we'll be discussing on Sunday evening on how we've moved up a gear Loughduff Lad (Cavan) - Posts: 2488 - 04/03/2022 10:32:24 2403740 Link 0 |

I don't think we will have a full strength team unfortunately, Thomas galligan will be out, Connor brady or the holla isn't back yet, and that's 3 players who will definitely be starting when back and fit.

Ah well yeah, meant who's available rather than sitting fit lads out. Clearly Holla (long term) and Galligan are missing. Not sure if Marty will be fit either. We should still have a good team out

I heard on the terraces last week that Holla is nowhere near back, had the operation late enough not until October/November of last year, and Conor Brady doesn't want to come back to the panel, not sure how true that is but he's over the injury ! ! Also Pierson a long way from returning ? ?

Are we expecting a big travellling crowd to his game?.... Not too far of a journey for those in the western half of the county.....Would the far reaches of West Cavan ie: Dowra and Blacklion actually be closer to Markievcz Park than they would Breffni? Cant speak for Holla but Pierson will be almost certainly be out for the entire year club and county, that was a nasty one HuddHastings (Longford) - Posts: 144 - 04/03/2022 12:34:43 2403774 Link 0 |

Well hopefully we follow a similar trajectory that Derry took following your comparisons ( which were very well put together I might add ) as they look like making a push for Division 1.. For now it's all about Sunday and while I would love to see us breaking our goal drought I would gladly at this point take a scrappy 9pts to 8 win as victory will have us odds on to make the League Final…!!

Sligo 11/4 ; Cavan 4/11 Baffling ! ! 5allirelands (Cavan) - Posts: 90 - 04/03/2022 14:37:43 2403804 Link 0 |

As they say the bookie doesn't get too much wrong but on this occasion he might have Cavan a bit too short…. I would have thought 6/4 v 4/6 but what would I know….!

If they're the current odds, then it ain't the bookies setting them - it's where the money has been laid. Rightly or wrong, it means the vast majority are expecting a Cavan win (and/or did in the lead up to the original fixture) cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 5333 - 04/03/2022 15:38:41 2403814 Link 0 |

They are shortening, 2/5 now. There's a huge outbreak of covid in sligo Town at the moment so maybe the wise punters are aware of it?

4/11 to 2/5 is not shorter odds it's longer…

What's the story with the U20s? They seem to be going poorly. Have we not the players coming on? Bit of a worry when the feeder grade is not getting results. Could be trying out players in preparation for championship. ParkTheBus (Cavan) - Posts: 34 - 05/03/2022 15:36:17 2403903 Link 0 |
