Replying To Claretandblue:  "The only question is is this the greatest performance in an All Ireland final ever? I'd say so. Certainly greatest first half display"
We've just seen the best team to ever play football fall into the pack, I think we're now witnessing the best team to ever play hurling. It is harder to judge due to great hurling teams of the past but it will be in no doubt when this Limerick team add another three or four All Ireland's on the bounce which I expect them to do.

Antrim played Limerick a season or two ago in a challenge game. The Antrim fellas said the Treaty men were the most physically imposing team they had ever come up against.

Replying To galwayford:  "Cork getting well beaten at this point. Too many side ways passes, especially in front of goal. Limerick more direct, just pucking the ball."
Hardly a surprise. That's the way they've played all year since the league started.
Get the ball and turn back before thinking of going forward. Best inside forward in the country standing in getting cold and not getting the ball.

Limerick will be around for years, huge guys the combination of skill and athletic prowess is frankly supernatural. But aside for this delicious eye fest, Marty really needs to go to spec savers, shocking commentary.

Just goes to show how great Cody is that he managed a team to actually beat these guys.

Who were the other 4?

My prediction was Limerick pulling up. We are still the closest to them and still a mile behind.

Unreal team. Congratulations Limerick. I fear they will dominate for years. What a team. Sick.

Limerick people like a big imposing team in Rugby or hurling.. Thats where the strength of the place is...pure power. But Limerick realise this is a once in a generation team...like Mackeys 30s team who were very physical aswell. Cork will be back sooner than people think but this is a fairly big setback id say.

Replying To skirge7:  "The rules will surely have to change. 3-18 in a half. Limerick missed another 1-5.

Make the ball heavier. The Hurley lighter. Ban the handpass unless a clear strike. Only one catch allowed. Anything.

There were no tackles or hits or challenges in that entire half. They say the Football is boring but this is worse"
No new rules are required, the existing rules just need to be applied consistently (throwing the ball is against the current rules). And if a game becomes start-stop as a result, people have to start putting the responsibility on players 'playing on the edge' or 'playing to the line', rather than criticizing the ref for implementing the basic rules.

Other than that, you just have an exceptional team in Limerick, that no-one can live with. You also had a regrettably poor performance from Cork so far (incl. the sideline). Looking at u20 and minor, it won't always be this way, the next few years are going to be very interesting. That'll be the last time Cork get beaten like that, Cork v Limerick may become the next big rivalry over the next few years.

Just enjoy it for what it is, the huge scoreline is due to the ability of the Limerick hurlers, not deficiencies in the game.

Congrats to Limerick, the bar has been raised yet again.

Congrats to Luimneach. Amazing performance for a final from amazing players. Cork bamboozled by the work rate and aggression of limerick and the treaty lads always seemed to have time on the ball. You always want a close competitive final but that was a pleasure to watch. Hard luck to a Cork team who have been exciting to watch all year.

Turning over Cork from the start and right to the end. A Phenomenal team. Write them in among the greatest and probably not done.

Limerick were awesome in the first half, just went through the motions in the second half which was enough. Physically they made Cork look like an under 20 side.

Congrats Limerick awesome team, plenty of titles to come

My take away from a rules perspective would be to allow the ten steps as the refs let it go anyway.
Also throwing the ball is now called a "flick" lol

Hard luck Cork, next year try letting the ball off quicker instead of taking too much out of it with the stick and learn how to mark your man tighter.

In terms of achievements Limerick have a bit to do to catch the great Kilkenny team(s) of the last twenty years. They look well equipped to do it. They are a magnificent team.
