Replying To CTGAA10:  "I was talking about gal/dub game..I expect Galway to win by possibly 10 points plus..Dublin are not as good as they looked yesterday..limerick will not hammer cork..if Clare had shooting boots on match would be well over..if it stays as it is I don't expect Clare to beat tipp.."
Clares back 6 were very good but Waterford never really got going. The result was never in doubt . Poor wides from both sides, poor passing , poor touches and pickups. Not an exciting game by any stretch. Think Clare will be alot better against Tipp and the extra game will stand to them. I think Bill Cooper might be injured and if that's the case I cant see Cork being within 10 points of you. I think the Clare Tipp game will be closer.

Gleeson flaked down on the mans hand and followed through on to his shoulder. Definite yellow. The contact on the hand was after the clare man had the ball, the follow through was the icing on the cake for a yellow.

He also hit Tony across the knee while on the ground with no hope or intention of playing the ball and should have got a second yellow for the needless strike.

You know well that Gleeson has discipline issues in his locker and until he gets rid of them he won't scale the heights he should."
Nonsense the ball was in the air and he pulled on it. Simple as that and he did not even make contact with Tony in the other incident. Every thing he does is now questioned. Your boys need to stop pulling on players after they score or running back in to position. They may not get away with it the next time. Savour your deserved win today and good look next week.

I did not expect to win as we cannot afford to be missing the spine of the team. Gleeson would have been at centre forward and would have negated Conlon's influence some. Over all it was a poor game and if Clare do nor play better will be wiped out next week. I will be rooting for them. Waterford will have a say in this championship before it ends.

See that is unacceptable. So it is all right to chop him down after he scores. If that was the way Tommy Walsh, Barrett and many others from different counties would be ear marked on their previous indiscretions. Austin is one of the finest players in the game. Hits hard. Gets hit hard and should be allowed to play. The first time you see him complain or roll around on the ground because he was hit let me know.

That Kelly incident puzzled me because as you say there didn't seem to be any contact made when he went down clutching his knee. Unless it was a delayed reaction to a stroke he got a few seconds earlier... I hope it wasn't simulation anyway.

I'm sure they will. I fancied them to get to the Munster final but that was before Prunty and Barron got injured. Will those 2 lads be back in 3 weeks?

viking ye love yer hurling i must say ........i was in croke park in 96 and a day ill never forget for all the wrong reasons....i always rated limerick as the best supporters in the country but we met our match that day.....wexford had some support there.....id love to see ye winning an all ireland but i just think ye have the wrong man in charge. if wexford do get to an all ireland final this year covid or any restrictions wont keep ye out of croke park. ye crave success . wish ye well for the rest of the year.

Not sure. Those injuries are hard to shake.

I did mention that I thought Clare would win the match today..the loss of prunty and Barton was enormous..any county team can't miss players of that high quality..I didn't see gleeson do anything to wrong at any stage today..he got a yellow card for pulling on a high ball..it was mentioned he might have hit Kelly on the knee, wrong, didn't touch him..it was possibly a belt from Kelly's own team mate..can I compliment Colm Lyons on penalizing the sledging by Clare players today..it is horrible to see and I hope all refs clamp down on it..match will be of benefit to Clare but huge improvement needed to beat tipp..

Good win for Clare. They should have won by a lot more. I believe they had 20 wides. Waterford looked very poor for most of the match. If Clare can clean up all the wastefulness they'll be tough to beat for anyone.

They haven't won the league quite just yet ..... if they meet Kilkenny that game will also double as the league final.

I agree with you.
The top top players just get on with it and ignore some of what goes on.
Every top player gets belted around the place at times, you have to rise above it. Let the hurling do the talking.
To me, this is Gleeson's problem.

Your right there, he seems to get drawn into an awful lot of unnesscary niggly stuff. At this stage in his career he should know better. A player of his ability is better than that.

Viking- forget the 10 points. At least in my opinion, our boys will be quite happy with a one point win. I agree with your other predictions

So you agree with the phantom hit on Tony Kelly's knee happening ? Clare won because they were the better team on the day. There did seem to be throw back to former days of goading and intimidation that was part of the strategy in the past against Waterford but that comes with the territory. I wonder what is the link to that ? With regards Gleeson I have never defending him when wrong but what did he deserve to gain your wrath on Sunday other than score five points. (hurling doing the talking) Try playing the lead up to the hand belt and you will see he was already in the air batting down the ball. I have asked you before have you ever seen him complaining about getting "belted around " or trying to get an opponent sent off ? Try rising above your dislike for Austin Gleeson. I have rose above your guys helmet faking removing and subsequent dance that got DeBurca suspended. Up Wexford as usual next time out.
