Replying To foreveryoung:  "Two cracking games to look forward to at the weekend.

Can Cork muster up the same level and depth of again? Or was last Saturday their AIF? Their hurling lives and the county's reputation were on the line last weekend. It might be hard to get such wind in their sails again, so soon afterwards. Even though Cork like Thurles and generally perform well there, Tipp are no soft touch and will come out with all guns blazing. A draw wouldn't surprise me at all, just like last year.

Clare should get over Waterford, but Davy will have the latter will be driven like demons to gun down Lohan. Their interaction on the line might be even better than the game. Is there any chance that Davy will have him so tormented and if getting the better of him, Lohan will go for Davy by the throat? The world holds its breath!"
I see where you're coming from re Cork, and the pitch invasion at the end - although I fully understand the outpouring of joy and relief - may seem a bit premature, as it will count for nothing if we don't win in Thurles.

Agree with others that it feel 's like Christmas eve. I can't wait to be in Thurles early watching the Clare/Waterford game in the pub before heading to our own match. The Munster championship is just pure magic.

I am worried about how much Saturday's game will have taken out of them, and as others have already stated, Tipp are well rested, but in fairness to Pat, he has already alluded to getting it wrong before the Tipp match last year in terms of had training sessions, so I'd imagine he'll give the lads plenty of time to recover.

Pat still has a couple decisions to make if Joyce is back. Will he go to center back after Downey's fantastic performance? will Coleman be the one to lose out with O'Mahoney retained? Some tough calls there.

I'm going to stick my neck out and call narrow wins for both Clare and Cork, but wouldn't be surprised if results went the other way.

sundays match in thurles is a dangerous game for cork.......its well known that any team that goes to the wire with limerick takes a lot out of them and a few wks to recover. mentally and physicaly is last saturdays match going to leave cork flat. i think it will and am going to go with tipp by 2.

Joyce is still a doubt with hamstring injury, but if he plays, and Coleman loses out, what a substitute to bring on.Rob Downey almost certainly will start at number 6. I think Eoin Downey will start at full back, and Ger Mellerick can slot in as replacement for anyone in back 6. Tim O' Mahony was solid last weekend and should keep his place. Tipperary have some powerful goal getting forwards, and if they fire, we will need to produce our best performance. Shane Barrett at number 11 is excelling this year, and if Cork do manage to advance from Munster, he will get better and better! Here's to another great game.

I hope you're wrong, and that Cork might have momentum from last Saturday's game and go from strength to strength. I do think any defender with an early yellow card will be hauled ashore, and Cahalane/Mellerick/Coleman are ready made replacements. There is serious competition for places. Clare vs Waterford is intriguing, as Waterford have surprised everyone this year… and could be first team to emerge from Munster!

If Waterford beat Clare on Sunday then I think Limerick are just about through
Clare can only get to max 4 points and Limerick have the head to head
If Tipp also beat Cork, Cork are also out, but if Cork beat Tipp then they also have 4 but if three teams are on four its points difference. Limerick right now are +16, Cork are -3, Clare are -1.
Hard to see both Clare and Cork making up the points difference on Limerick un less Limerick are hockeyed by Waterford

Now if Clare beat Waterford and Cork beat Tipp everybody is alive heading into last weekend
And if Clare beat Waterford and Tipp beat Cork then all four playing on the last weekend are alive with only Cork out

Landers on the Dalo podcast was suggesting retaining Coleman and moving Joyce to FB. That would mean dropping Eoin. Bit mad if you ask me.
I believe Dalton is a slight injury concern which would be a blow if he doesn't make it. We need his physicality against the Tipp HB line.

Still all to play for the head to head could yet play a part I am very fearful of Waterford coming to Ennis they are in a good place a win will put them in Munster Final id imagine, with one game left so they will have a right cut at it but not even LK are still safe with two wind if results go against hard to see that but the championship thrown up a few surprises

Correction: If Cork beat Tipp, then Tipp are out. Their max would be 3 points and they would not be able to overtake Limerick, Cork, and winners of Clare/Waterford. And if Clare Waterford was a draw then they couldnt catch Waterford
A draw would leave Tipp alive, and while Cork would also be alive they would be on life support. They couldnt catch Limerick and could only qualify on 3 points if they finished level with multiple teams (as they would love a straight head to head against both Waterford and Clare; and if Tipp beat Clare

Dalton needs to keep his head too. Incredible he didn't see red last saturday . Tough abrasive players is what cork need. Not red cards.

BB, Cork needs to give a right hammering to Tipp, because if Clare slip up to Wateford, we could have a three way Four Point situation with two going through. Oops forgot Clare and Waterford result will be there before you start, and if Clare lose You have only to over haul them to get through as the third team, although they still would have Tipp to play. Unless Clare lost the two games-ah but that wont happen.

The permutations will be clearer for all on Sunday evening, so for the moment its best to just focus on one match at a time. If Cork win they are still in the Munster Championship for another week at least. The shouldn't be bothered by anything else this week.

And the loser, depending on other results will be gone.

That the beauty of Munster. For all the great things Limerick have done in the championship so far with a great win in Ennis, the destruction of Tipperary and only a last gasp loss away to Cork, they will still be fighting for survivial on the last day.

It was a pity to see Cork depart the championship last year as thegames they lost were by a puck of a ball buts that the main difference between Munster and Leinster in that Munster is unforgiving and you generall can have 1 off day but no more!!!

If you offered any County in Munster a guarantee of third place right now, they would bite your hand off for it.

Munster Finals are a bonus for any team, but the primary objective for everyone in Munster, Limerick included, is to qualify for the All Ireland Series.

Anyone any idea of when we will see team selections for the games on Sunday?
