Look at last 3 years. Kilkenny lost in 2010 due to 1 major injury. 1 injury derailed them. Limerick have had several every year. Some posters here just can't enjoy greatness when it's staring them in the face. You'd wonder are they hurling people really? I went to as many kilemny AI finals as i could between 05 and 16 because they were the greatest at the time to do it. I loved watching them. Their physicality their mental strength their confidence their skill level. It's just been an enormous coincidence that this Limerick team came right on their heels. Or is it? This Limerick team was moulded on kilkenny with a sprinkle of a genius in Kinnerk. As christy Ring said the greatest are here and now but the greatest are still yet to come." 100%. That Limerick team is definitely based on the Kilkenny 06-15 teams.
- Their half-back line is their most important line (think Tommy, Hogan, JJ) and launchpad.
- The middle third is a battle field and workrate was through the roof with both teams.
- Winning your own ball was non negotiable under Cody, same with Kiely.
- Kilkenny had big men in vital positions and Limerick followed suit.
- Kilkennys bench was as important as their starting 15, same as Limerick.
- Running the football lines is where Kinnerk came in and added his stamp on it but Cody had men to win puck outs so it wasn't a thing back then.
-I think the likes of Kinnerk and these football Gurus built a system to beat Kilkenny anyway, Kilkenny are still the benchmark for a lot of counties.

Make sure you speak facts or your point comes across as very very weak.
Kilkenny had 3 huge injuries not 1.
- Centre back Brian Hogan broke his finger and missed the final - John Tennyson and Henry Shefflin played the final with ruptured ACLs (absolute madness to think this actually was allowed to happen).
Shefflin lasted about 18mins and hobbled off and Tennyson played the game running in straight lines, he couldn't turn in that match.

Remember Limerick had Lynch and Peter Casey off in 2022, men who between them scored eleven points from play in the 2021 Final, even though Casey had to off injured after 27 minutes, and still withstood vibrant challenges from Waterford Tipp, Clare (twice), Galway and Kilkenny. No mean feat.

Since when did the topic: 'Munster Hurling Championship 2024', morph into 'Kilkenny, The Cody Years'? I've been popping in here, now and again, over the last week to read opinions on the MHC, and all I see is Kilkenny this, and Kilkenny that...

Limerick have achieved what no one has done before in munster. The natural segway will be to compare them to the great kilkenny team under cody through 06-09. I would have thought that was straight forward. The munster championship is indeed over but its been a topical thread.
