Replying To StoreysTash:  "From talking to my Dad tonight I am worried about the Wexford crowd at the game. There are those who are genuinely busy with Feile, and there are those who are saying **** you to the GAA authorities, we're not going.

It is always us who get the short end of these sticks. We seem to routinely get screwed by the GAA, and Leinster counties in general. The league restructure in the 10's screwed Wexford, the quarter final in Cork a few years ago, relegation in Leinster hurling championship but not in Munster. But this one takes the biscuit. What they said to the volunteers in our clubs was "we don't care".

You can bet your bottom dollar if Feile was in any Munster county, this would never have even been a discussion point. CCCC fix the match for 7pm on Saturday or Sunday and that is the end of it.

We were always going to lose a vote. That Clare voted against it says it all. Awful bunch of people on and off the pitch. But Wexford County Board were weak here, they should have simply refused to play the game before 7pm on Saturday and let the GAA deal with it however the **** they wanted to.

I have no drink on board tonight so won't go full cringe as before Kilkenny match last year, but I would appeal to the Wexford fans who can go to go to the game. Some of our greatest servants are nearing the end and need the support to get behind them for one last opportunity to get to a semi final. No point saying we will go to the semi, or not going in protest, or complaining about the road (it won't get any better), none of it helps the team who sacrifice a lot to play these games."
Agree 100% lads like Chin, Fanning and Matt are near the end of their careers. They have sacrificed a lot over the years to play for Wexford and deserve our full support on Saturday. It is what it is now and everyone that can go needs to get to Thurles on Saturday

Ryan is a devastating loss. A poster here said he was 100% fit so I hope this is fake news and maybe he will start.

But presuming he is out

Fanning
Shane Reck Matt O Hanlon Eoin Ryan

Eoin Whelan or Paudie Foley Damien Reck Conor Foley

Jacko Conor Hearne Dee O Keefe

Rory O Connor Chin Liam Og
Mac Cian Byrne

I would play a three man midfield. Jacko to stay with Duggan on Puck outs and join the Wexford half forward line on our own puck outs and cover Damien in Centre back when he sweeps ahead of the full backline.

Keep Jack between the two forty yard lines to add grit and aerial ability.

Dee O and Conor Hearne chase everything and work their socks off all day on turn overs

I have thrown a curve ball into the half backline after rumours of Paudie Foley and Eoin Whelans inclusion in the panel just for physical presence alone.

A rotating 5 forwards with midfielders joining the half forward line when needed

Paudie wont start hasnt played inter county in 2 years. Eoin has never played senior inter county. If either were to be involved in any way they needed to play against Laois to try get a bit up to speed. Cant see Dee starting either but would be great to have his experience off the bench if he is fit. Any news on Richie Lawlor and Jacko in the article?

The logic and thinking of a Wexford supporter myself included:

Their forwards as a unit are better I feel than our front 6. Not individually but as a unit

Their midfield shades it too. Savage work rate and used to high intensity games everyday they go out

Their backs would be closer to ours only our main physical presence is out in Liam Ryan. We are going to war with two 20 year olds or so in defence E. Ryan and Foley. Great chaps but still 1st season senior intercounty

Goalkeepers probably on par only Fanning in decent form Clares looks a bit shaky.

We will have no support really due to Feile

It's in Munster in a stadium we never win at.

We will not only have two 20 or 21 year old defenders we also should have another two very young players in Cian Byrne and Lawlor. Again great chaps and bright futures.

The old GAA saying Clare are further down the line. That couldn't be more true. Seasoned management battle hardened team against a debutant young manager in his 1st year. Who knows where Rossi can bring this team but if he was getting a report card this year I'd give him a B+. Looking after the older players and freshening the squad with new.

We have a few knocks too, still sweating on bodies. Clare aren't as far as I know.

In 2022 Clare pushed Limerick all the way in Munster and we almost pipped em with no Rory O Connor and Chin on one leg. I feel they were spent after Munster but we will have to wait and see this Saturday. We also didn't have a squad really that day.

Deep in our hearts we know that everything goes against a Wexford win here but yet we feel maybe we can. Ya never know

Either way, if you can go to it please do so. Those lads deserve all the support, Rossi deserves it too. One of our own. If we cab stick with em and be in contention down the home straight ya never know.

We shouldn't be mentioning Paudie Foley as he has no match fitness and as far as I know hasn't been with the panel. A good hurler but he has been away traveling regularly. Which he is entitled to do. Let's stick with the guys who have given huge commitment and sacrificed their family and social lives for the love and honor to play for Wexford. If lads want to go abroad, fine. Once yes but to return and then go back again doesn't suggest that they have playing for Wexford as a priority. As I say, if they want to explore other lands that's their business but they shouldn't be considered for inclusion when they decide to return.

Where did that come from that Whelan and Foley were in the panel? News to me.

I believe P. FOLEY is just doing S&C but Whelan has trained with squad. Wouldn't be surprised to see him in squad. I think P. Foley is not happening.

His physical presence would be great tho bit as it stands he'd be a very tall spectator as he's not fit nor up to speed with county

Will there really be no Wexford support there? There are a lot of clubs that have no involvement with feile its not like years ago where all clubs would have been involved. We will use it as an excuse if we have poor support but we had poor support in 2022 aswell with no feile . Our ''great'' supporters need to get off their backsides and if they can go and support the lads on Saturday. Interesting there has been no stand tickets available on ticketmaster since last night they will probably hold the best ones till later in the week which is infuriating

You couldn't throw those 2 lads in on Sunday. But they would be two good additions next year hopefully. This is Matt last year, my cousin was talking to him during the week. He going to oz to his girlfriend after club championships and what a servant he has been. Liam og the same I would think. Hopefully D O K will give it another year seen as he missed all this year through injury. But what servants and let's hope they go out on a high.

Shocking really and their underage teams being looked after by clubs and families in Wexford this weekend. John mullane reckons Wexford should have taken the 'Newbridge or nowhere' stance of Kildare!"
Can you imagine the uproar if say we dug our heels in and took the " Newbridge or nowhere"
Stance. John " I love me county" Mullane should not be telling Us what to do. The lad just can't keep his mouth zipped for 5 minutes. Another opportunity to make a headline John.
We don't need distractions right now and outsiders getting involved. It's in Thurles. It's on Saturday and it's throw in at 3.15pm end of story. We're not happy about the decision but a vote was taken at the cccc meeting and we didn't manage to get our way. Total concentration by the boys on the game now. The side shows are irrelevant.

Ive no problem with Clare people love visiting Clare as a county its my favourite in Ireland to visit. But id be very dissapointed with Clare to vote against the change this weekend. A hurling county like Clare should see the timing is both unfair on Wexford and does nothing for the promotion of the game overall

It will be poor, it was poor in 2022 as you stated and there was no Feile then. Probably still outnumber the Dubs.

Plenty of stand tickets will be made available later, it isn't actually sold out. Ticketmaster do this for whatever reason.

Cairde Loch Garman ticket requests are way down on usual numbers too

Disappointing to hear requests are down. We should still have plenty of support regardless of feile as not every club is in the feile like years ago and clubs that are I would say 3/4 of people have no involvement with Feile teams or have to give a hand Saturday. Wexford fans just use Thurles as an excuse not to travel.
