I'd worry about our forwards work off the ball, I don't think it's a particular strength of Lee Chins or Conor McDonald and Rory O Connor always looks knackered

Typical I bought them earlier today poor enough seats. You can guarantee if I didn't get them they would actually be sold out !

Because they don't wear black and amber jerseys

Two would be certain. A toss up for a third. I Donnell along with Chin would be top three in the country at the minute. A combined 6 would have Conor Mac, Chin and Rory o Connor in it. Toss of a coin then for McGovern or Byrne. My maths is right. Don't get me wrong, Clare are probably the third best team in Ireland consistently for the last three years but we are Wexford and have absolutely no reason to fear anyone. That wasn't posted to insult you. I'm disappointed to see one of our own writing our obituary a week before the match. That's no way to be looking at an aiqf. If we think that we're bet before we turn up. Doylerwex (Wexford) - Posts: 3080 - 18/06/2024 00:10:40 2552560 Link 0 |
Chalk and cheese conparing wexford to kk. We all spoke months ago about hanging our hats on kk results. Kk won 5 in a row leinster last week. They looked at what dublin done in parnell and completely negated their gameplan. Mullen is one of the best hurlers in the country didnt play against wexford. Wexford rise their game playing kk weather its hurling or twiddley winks. The minors beat kk fairly and squarely in wexford park and look at the kk team now. I didnt see it but heard it was a great match and they have some very good young players coming thru. Im not picking on u tiger1 but generally the idea always is if kk can do it we can do it. Two different animals altogether. Wexford are wexford, huge support and passion for the game. Im giving wexford a right shot at this and its important wexford take the next step and reach a semi finak and worry about opposition then. Jippo is going to be huge and thats the biggest concern. Fouling is still a huge problem. Cant belive another 13 frees against laois.i have my ticket got and the weather is good Slowandshortsighted (UK) - Posts: 39 - 18/06/2024 01:39:20 2552563 Link 0 |

They all worked hard v Galway but Chin and Rory's workrate was nowhere near good enough v KK. Especially in that spell before half time when we had an opportunity to build up a lead. Hopefully just an off day for the pair of them. You would think we will need at least 3 of (Chin, Mac, Rory, Byrne) to play very well to beat Clare. I think we can get goals too.

According to the county chairman Clare weren't the only 'hurling county' to vote against the switch. Shocking really and their underage teams being looked after by clubs and families in Wexford this weekend. John mullane reckons Wexford should have taken the 'Newbridge or nowhere' stance of Kildare!

Yeah Afinestick, it's frustrating alright. Maybe Keith is deliberately staying quiet about the injuries and perhaps Jippo and Jacko are not as bad as we are led to believe.Just imagine the roar if Ryan is announced to start. It would be a real shot in the arm and increase our chances greatly. This game is all about whether our defence can frustrate and contain their forwards. Without Jippo our back 6 look vulnerable at times and Clare will most definately try to exploit that weakness. However if Jippo doesn't play its the job of those that do to up their game big time and play out of their skins for the full game. Can we do that? I have my doubts but with a full deck to pick from and if we play with intensity we may well be there or thereabouts. Magpie2 (Wexford) - Posts: 382 - 18/06/2024 08:41:06 2552580 Link 0 |
Where did you hear that they were very worried about Mac, Chin, Rory and Byrne viking?

Would be a huge boost to have both of them particularly Jippo. Jacko has played very little this year due to injuries

Its baffling hurling counties would vote against the switch. Listened to the same podcast Eddie Brennan and Mullane both said Cork and Dublin should have been in Thurles on Saturday afternoon and then Wexford and Clare at 7pm in Nowlan Park could easily have been shown on RTE 1 to avoid the tv clashes. Imagine the atmosphere that could have created in a packed Nowlan Park. I find the atmosphere in a double header in Thurles is pretty poor overall. Its an awful pity didnt go ahead with splitting the games to different venues to give everyone in our county the opportunity to travel. Unfortunately we have to move on now and concentrate on the game in Thurles at 3.15

It's sickening really but as you said we need to move on. If there is such a thing as Karma then wouldn't Saturday be just the time for it to happen.

They won't worry about Wexford, they just focus on their self and have little respect for Wexford and who can blame them. They have knocked us out of the championship 4/5 times in the last 7/8 years all at the same venue. We have a long injury list, they have a full squad, a lot of our supporters wont be able to go due to the feile, so they will have more support. Everything is in their favour. But there is always hope no matter how small. Limerick ref I see for the game too. hunting (Wexford) - Posts: 1018 - 18/06/2024 09:30:25 2552599 Link 0 |
If I was picking a combined Wexford Clare team to play Limerick TK would be midfield. Rodgers is a great prospect but on current form I'd have Chin, Rory and Mac ahead of him. Posted this ladt night but it never appeared LRH, but if I was picking a combine team I'd go- Fitz, Chin, Duggan, Rory, Mac, SOD. They are missing Taylor, their best player in the 2022 game. TK and Ryan aren't fully fit either. If Jippo is fully fit and Dee is recovered we haven't too many injuries, at least not lads pushing for a start. Hopefully Jacko is fully fit too, though not sure I'd start him against Clare anyway. Oisin Foley probably the only one. Viking66 (Wexford) - Posts: 13622 - 18/06/2024 09:59:50 2552606 Link 0 |
Rory floating in and out.

From talking to my Dad tonight I am worried about the Wexford crowd at the game. There are those who are genuinely busy with Feile, and there are those who are saying **** you to the GAA authorities, we're not going. StoreysTash (Wexford) - Posts: 1783 - 18/06/2024 10:11:25 2552611 Link 1 |

Rodgers is definitely in a combined 6. Rory and Chin are the only two that get in tbf.
